Bearsy Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 There were at least four or five moments where I was just waiting for the net to bulge! That's what you get for having sh!t strikers dirty leeds! Couldn't be happier if we'd won fair and square!
astrasri Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 They battered us but luck like that wins leagues. From the short bit that I was able to stream I don't think we were lucky, we played our way out of trouble by putting in a full shift where and when it counted. Step up to the rostrum" Super, super Kelv, super Kelvin Davies" Don't put down to luck - he worked his socks off today and kept us the 3 points. alpine_saint Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 I think that might have been our MK Dons. Beat reading and I think we are there Yes, looking at the table, bar a totally bizarre collapse of form, I think you are right.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 I can't say I enjoyed that because we were well and truly "battered" by horrible Leeds - but what a ferking fantastic result. Kelvin Davis obviously outstanding and Lambert won it, but lets give a special mention to Chaplow and Spiderman in midfield too - heroic.

Leicestersaint Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 Major result for this season. Turning point? Fantastic performance by Kelvin D and special mentions for Jos H and Richard L. Dalek2003 Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 The handball was blatant. Had the shoe been on the other foot we would have been furious. Katalinic Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 Major result for this season. Turning point? I think it could be this seasons "MK Dons" moment - a defining part of the season, the game when players and fans start to believe its going to happen. I do. saintscottofthenortham Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 Well, in that case I hope we leave Elland Road quietly and out the back door. Sounds like we had the luck today. It was too early in the game for the result to be blamed on that. Had the pen been given and Leeds converted then it would have been a totally different game. Still, a bit of luck has been due and we certainly got it tonight.

70's Mike Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 Different take on game football is a team game most of the time we sing the praises of the forwards today it was the defenders who performed brilliantly, yes we rode our luck but teams like Leeds do not just roll over ans let us play we will need a similar battling performance in the rest of the away games, 12 games to go all that matters is the final score

saintds Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 Played poorly, rode our luck, finished one of the very few opportunities we had, won the game. Form of champions? Despite Leeds relative form, going to Elland Road & taking the points is massive - Lambo was spot on in his interview. Loved the players reaction at the end. Chun leaping around like a kid, everyone bundling KD like we'd won a penalty shoot out. Gotta love the team spirit & so pleasing to see this means as much to the players as the fans. COYMFR! up and away Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 Leeds took the midfield from us because Chaplow was again not at his best, Puncheon neither and only Schneiderlin can really hold his head up. But we certainly had a defence today and everyone must be congratulated upon that. Just so glad we started with Chung, but without Lallana we really have to grind out a result. I don't know what is going on at Staplewood, but that's the second time where Adkins has commented on how exceptionally well the training has gone, only to not turn up for the game. We left a lot of effort on that pitch tonight and have to bring in fresh faces for Ipswich. I would not even consider starting Lallana, because if that goes up in our faces I don't believe we will get automatic. As it is we are in a great position and a professional job against Ipswich would be fantastic.

Psycrow Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 That was one of the best goalkeeping performances I've ever seen. After how Kelvin handled himself when we were on the brink of going out of existence, putting West Ham on the long finger and waiting to see if there was a buyer for Saints and a contract for him, then he can stay in goal for as long as he wants as far as I'm concerned. But today was another level. Unbelievable. Other things that struck me today. I thought the 4 midfielders in the second half were brilliant. The intricate passing when most teams would have booted the ball up the pitch to ease the pressure, MS, RC and JC especially were playing box to box until the 93rd minute. They were getting forward, holding up the ball and creating chances on the break even when the strikers weren't. What team spirit, not only during the match with bodies being put on the line, as Adkins put it, but at the end. Every one of them to a man, even the subs ran to Kelvin. They looked like a team who are not only 100% together, but like a team who believed in themselves. Great honesty from RL and NA. We were rubbish, we nicked 3 points thanks to KD. Champions have to do these things we're told all the time. And we certainly did it tonight. I think we got promotion tonight. That performance from KD is going to buoy this team going into the next few games. 2 home games next if I'm not mistaken and if we can win those, making 15 points from 15 I think there's no going back. Chez Posted 3 March, 2012 Share Posted 3 March, 2012 two poor performances away from home and 6 points. Funny old game. Has the PFA team of the year been voted on yet as Kelvin's performance will live long in the players minds making him a shoe in. Have to say I thought Fonte was terrible. Distribution poor and Becchio (looked great against us twice now) tore him a new one. Puncheon looks miles of the pace and has been worse since he came into the side than he was when fans were booing him. Onwards and upwards. I thought we'd win and I still think we'll get promoted.
