yamms_schmitz Posted 1 March, 2012 Posted 1 March, 2012 http://www.punchaceleb.com/index.php?top20=all#Rupert Lowe - 129m Still No. 2 in the all time list. Shall we try to get him up to number 1?
Crazy Diamond Posted 1 March, 2012 Posted 1 March, 2012 ****s sake, there's nothing quite like moving on is there?
JRM Posted 1 March, 2012 Posted 1 March, 2012 obviously wasn't happy with the downfall of the club, but i quite liked Rupert as a character , he'll always be remembered fondly for pulling out that letter in praise of himself at the fans forum!
rocknrollman no2 Posted 1 March, 2012 Posted 1 March, 2012 Blimey i had forgotten about that. Punching Lowe again did make me feel good, but i also had to throw a few hundred punches at Redapp as well. Feel better now, thanks.
yamms_schmitz Posted 1 March, 2012 Author Posted 1 March, 2012 Redknapp needs a few more. He is way off Lowe.
saintmatt Posted 1 March, 2012 Posted 1 March, 2012 I'd forgotten about that! Gave 'Arry a few for good measure as well
yamms_schmitz Posted 1 March, 2012 Author Posted 1 March, 2012 Given Harry another 500. Need a break now.
homesick-saint Posted 3 March, 2012 Posted 3 March, 2012 just gave Lowe a quick 300 but nearly gave Lennon a few too 'cause I hate him. Would have been pointless though
LostBoys Posted 3 March, 2012 Posted 3 March, 2012 I have moved on and do not actually remember him now
stardustonmyfeet Posted 3 March, 2012 Posted 3 March, 2012 Plenty of people deserve it more. When you consider that the real damage done to our club happened in the years Lowe was out of the picture, I would've thought that with hindsight he didn't do such a bad job after all. 2008-2009 seemed crazy at the time, but we were already in the ****. And we dealt with it far better than a number of clubs that are up the creek at this moment in time. If anything my respect for him has grown.
Gemmel Posted 3 March, 2012 Posted 3 March, 2012 I know he was a ****, but it seems odd that we (quite rightly) criticise PFC for blatant and persistent cheating, yet have this hate campaign against a man who wanted to cut costs and ensure a long-term future. Maybe too much, but I'd rather too prudent than the Wilde and Burley method that hurtled us towards oblivion. I think there is a lot of truth in that Adrian. I never liked lowe and refused to go when he came back the second time, but the sands of time have eased my dislike for him and the reality that he actually ran the club in a fiscally prudent way is more obvious now, then it was back then. I actually met him a few months ago and had a good 20 minute chat with him. He's is not whiter than white and has his faults, but ultimately it was the way he ran and developed the club, that made it attractive for Markus and hence where we are today. Regardless of anyones thoughts on him, he is part of SFC history.
