The9 Posted 1 March, 2012 Posted 1 March, 2012 SaintsWeb is the preferred unofficial website for publishing Saints' fixtures anyway, so we don't care too much... every club is allowed one non-official site. It would be nice for this stupid copyright claim to be removed though.
VectisSaint Posted 1 March, 2012 Posted 1 March, 2012 Will be good news if this is finally resolved. In simple terms it is impossible to copyright facts, and fixtures are simply facts. You can really only copyright where creativity is involved, so you could copyright the design or layout of fixtures. But the PL and FL seem to be trying to copyright their database. It is a nonsense though and the EU Courts have said as much. Very unlikely that the English courts will go against this ruling. Hopefully common sense will prevail against the money-grabbing PL/FL.
