Millwall Away

Oh Dear. Only 2000 tickets. No chance of general sale. Anyone know the possibility of the bottom tier being opened for us?

the only reason why they won't open it is on police advice or if Millwall can't be bothered with the extra stewarding required, they have used it before, i remember league cup game v Liverpool as an example, if we do sell out quickly and they haven't opened the lower tier you could email both clubs to ask why not http://www.footballgroundguide.com/millwall/

been twice....not once was the bottom tier open and it was not a major problem getting a ticket

Thats interesting. I supose Watford made general sale and that was around the same number. Mind you having the "Family section" at Watford ment loads of people bought a adult and a child (because they had too) and because a child was only a fiver no one sat there. Big Waste for Watford doing themselves out of revenue. Anyway, hopfully this will make general sale. I’m hoping Milwall will win a few in the lead up to us and settle for mid table mediocrity.

I emailed the Millwall ticket office about the possibility of getting the lower tier as well if the upper tier sells out and their (speedy) response was

Dear Steve,

There has been no confirmation between Millwall and Southampton regarding the opening of the lower tier at this time.

Kind regards

So I guess it's a "cross that bridge when we come to it" scenario. Get that first block of tickets sold and then go from there.

It "suggests" that it would be an option, as otherwise they would have just said "No" outright. Guess if we sell out the upper tier quickly, suggesting we'll be able to put a fair few in the lower tier, making extra stewarding etc worthwhile, they'll probably open it.

Would be mental if we didn't sell out for this one, top of the league and a London away game.

Can sort of understand for the FA cup but people have no excuse not to attend this one.

i bet not as many families go to this.......im sure posh away is close to this and if people are more picky...that could be their choice..

Other than bubble trips, Millwall is the safest away game in the country these days.

Indeed I'm taking my 12 year old with me this time

Millwall is a good trip nowadays especially with the way the segragation is organised form the railway station to the ground, and the area around London Bridge and Borough Market excellent before the game

Anyone who wants one will get one as long as you're quick off the mark. Our fans are a bunch of saps and will all come down with the Millwall flu that weekend anyway, hence our poor attendance there in the FA Cup recently.

West Ham and Watford all made general sale, see no reason why this won't either.

I've got my Aunite Ediths surprise 75th birthday party that day so cant make it i'm afraid.

Good for you sir. And there was me having you down as one of those sad blokes that goes to watch football week in week out to the exclusion of a diverse social life. I take it all back. That'll teach me to judge a pamphlet by it's cover.

Yeah, i was going to miss the Derby game as i needed to buy some James Blunt tickets, luckily it had sold out as some other total lemons got there first.

It will be touch and go. All the normal tickets for Watford were gone by the time they went on general sale, with only the family ones remaining (1 adult + 1 child); while the allocation for WHU was 50% bigger than the current one for Millwall.

Does a diverse social life include over 19,000 posts on a football forum?

Aw, tough luck there buddy. It's not all doom and gloom though - there's still a few seats for Chris de Burgh next month. Only trouble is it clashes with once in a lifetime opportunity to watch the mighty Barnsley Football Club play at St Mary's.

Toss you for it?

I never felt Chris De Burgh followed up the success fo lady in Red with anything ground breaking so not one for me i'm afraid. I suppose i could always skip the game anyway and post on the match thread, desperate to be the first to post things like "corner" "shot from 25 yards goes wide" "get Sharp on" etc etc

There are a fair few of my lot interested. Should be a good day out. Would be brilliant if we took the bottom tier aswell. Although I can't see that happening.

The 1x ticket per ST will mess up my well laid plans...! I was in the market for ten tickets, not bloomin two!

The bottom tier would certainly help to facilitate my JCL buddies, if not I guess il have to sling them into the home end! (are you reading O.B/MFC/SFC?!)

Train beers - absolute doddle from waterloo - decent stadium - St.Paddys day celebrations in Borough market - a perfect day

One of the best away days IMO, lively, easy, drunkable... was wondering about unchallenged outside the ground last time, checked out the local bookies, chippy etc... it aint scary or dangerous, just very heavily policed.

One thing Ive always thought Millwall should do is open the away bars post match for 30mins or so... instead of having to wait for your train bunched up in the cage, it would be nicer to exchange some cash for gassy bottles of carlsberg whilst waiting...

birthday game for me, this one!

we found a cracking little "pound in a pint glass" gentlemen's club in shoreditch before the whammers game and of course I will be popping my head in to say hello to the lovely estonian ladies this time around.

feel free to join in on my birthday celebrations - fancy dress, face paints, jesters hats & other novelty saints accessories are a must!!

Borough is probably the best area in London for beers/pubs - can't imagine it would lower itself to getting involved in any of the rubbish that comes with St Paddys day.

Sounded reasonable until your last paragraph. What's wrong with just going on the beer all day and having a laugh, whilst not looking like a complete mong?

Millwall in the cup was probably my best away game of the season so far, and there have been some good ones. Gave the O.B the swerve by jumping off at Woking and getting a train 4 minutes later, took us into Waterloo 5 platforms up from the police waiting for the Southampton train. Was nice being able to roam freely around London instead of being pushed around all day. Quality drinking session before and after football.

That is the beauty of living in Andover when we play Millwall.

That's the way to do it.

saints fan in "taking things too literally" shocker.

ffs.

Sorry for the misjudgement. It's just that it can be hard to match mong fans on here with mong fans you actually see at games. Last time at millwall away, there was a group of said mongs in full body paint, wigs, hats etc. Shameful.
