Adkins sounds out Robert Green..

could well happen if they don't go up:lol:

Very true but seeing as west ham tried for everyone in January, it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to get Rickie in. if we stay down and they go up then I wouldn't hold a grudge if he wanted a shot at the premiership.

Yet another cocky example of West Ham assuming their promotion is already sewn up. My God how I would love to see them falter. This season (and this season only) if you offered me Pompey to stay up and West Ham to stay down, or the other way around, I'd choose West Ham and Pompey to start next season in the nPC. West Ham have so much arrogance it annoys me.

To be honest I don't think it's really anything to do with West Ham. Looks like a bit of an overseas "fans" site.

Perhaps someone from here can do an equally informed blog, stating that we are interested in James Tomkins and Robert Green.

well ..

in view of my much-maligned thread about KD recently, the thought occured to me ..should we go up, and Hammers not ..maybe we could think about moving for Green...? After all ..he can only say NO.. so why not ask the question ..(when the time is right ) ?

maybe not so much " annoyed ", but I sometimes wonder why it is that some clubs seem to think that if they just express an interest in a player, then that person would run barefoot over broken glass just to join "their club"... just to get a place on the bench.

It's surely not just the money..(that many of them don't have in the first place) they must live on Planet Football where they win the "double " every season.

The West Ham team were on the same flight as my sister on Saturday evening to Dubai, have they gone just for a bit of R & R?

Yes i read somewhere that they had gone for a "high temperature training". Big Sam must have had a brainwave after seeing the temperatures are going to hit 35 c. in cardiff on saturday ....

Hardly. I would hope we were making similar preparations should we get promoted.

+1, ludicrous! Who is the author?

well if you look at the photos of the subscribers you kind of get the impression that it might be an African or Asian site so

English may not be the writer's primary language. There were Lambert to West Ham stories doing the rounds during the transfer window, probably just a carry on of one of those.

West Ham may have bid for Lambert in January, I don't doubt we turned down several bids for our players and had others turned down ourselves.

My post wasn't just based on that article. I read KUMB from time to time and their arrogance is there for all to see.

Ben McAleer

After 23 wise years of life, I have come to realise I am far more comfortable with fingers on the keyboard than a ball at my feet. Having been brought into the world an enforced football fan, Ben hopes to put his Media Communications degree to good use in the competitive world of Sports Journalism. @BenMcAleer1

I wonder if this is the Ben McAleer

Didn't we have somebody on here awhile ago who was call "Ben" ?

probably just a student in 'meejah studies" or something like that. Grammar needs polishing up a bit though.Changes from the first person to the 3rd person when referring to himself in the same paragraph to mention but one error.

To cap it all looks like he may be a Spurs follower.

And ours isn't ? Football supporters are not usually bashful about trumpeting the,oft imaginary, merits of their own teams and the shortcomings of

rival teams.

I know I sometimes have rose-tinted specs about my team, but when we talk about promotion, mostly it's "if". With West Ham, it's "when". They set up a celebration boat cruise before even the turn of the year. We haven't. The West Ham fan I work with "hopes we get second" behind them. It all adds to my annoyance.

I have found the revised text:

Championship title contenders West Ham United are keen on bolstering their attacking options at the end of the season with a move for Championship Leaders Southampton striker Rickie Lambert.

The Saints front-man has been in exceptional form for the south-coast club with his 19 goals firing them to the top of the championship league.

30-year-old Lambert has managed to strike 70 goals in 120 league appearances since joining from Bristol Rovers in 2009.

And his form has seen the Hammers take an in interest in the striker as they look to reaffirm their Premier League status. However, any move would depend on the fortunes of the Saints, whose meteoric rise have seen them with possible back-to-back promotions.

Sam Allardyce’s side look set to secure promotion back to England’s top flight after a superb season following relegation from the Premiership, and hold a game in hand over leaders Southampton. However the rise in recent weeks of Birmingham and Reading, plus the challenge of Cardiff, who no longer have to concentrate on the Carling cup, after being beaten by Liverpool, could dampen their ardour.

And the former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United manager is hoping to use Lambert as the spearhead in his attack should they achieve promotion this season, as he plans to bring the Hoof ball system of attack into the 20th Century. He hopes this sort of football will appeal to Lambert, after he has been hampered by the 21st century system of passing and moving shown by Southampton.

Nigel Adkins, a staunch supporter of Lambert, commented:' The lad is great player, and ambassador for the club, he came on board the bus with both oars in the air, and when it came his time, he grasped the planet with both hands and fulfilled the greatest of ever need that a player can ever need in his life. Sam is abig fan, and we know that he knows at this level that it's not how full your glass is, but how many swallows you see during the summer months that allows for full entrance to the train, but this is the Saints express we are talking about, not a canoe. Hovercraft.' However, Sam may have problems with the Chairman of Southampton, Nicola Cortese.

'Who wanna buy Ricardo Lamberto? Sammo Alerdicia, I'll tell a you what? You wanna buy him, it a cost 35 million pound and we have Roberto Greeno, Caltonio Cole and Ricardo, what a loverly name, Ricardo Vaz te in exchange. His got a head full of bubbles if a he thinks we sell. Tell him to fargoff'.

When told of the reply from Cortese, Allerdice threw himself to the floor and started waving an imaginary red card.

How is it that so many on here fall hook, line and sinker for windups by promotion rivals? Sam is notorious for doing this when he's trying to get one over his rivals. Shame people just don't ignore such crap. :(

Although if you wanted to start putting about on MHSC forums that we're going to take Giroud and Belhanda off of them when we get promoted to the PL at the end of the season I guess that would be OK.Lulu never refuses a deal when there's a couple of euros in it for him.

Standard reporting tonight that Green's West Ham future is in doubt as contract negotiations have stalled.

You are so right. I even know where this nonsense comes from. Some of the more perceptive posters will remember that during the last transfer window a Hammers fan posted on the KUMB site that they were after Lambert. A few dinlos on here took the bite and soon afterwards KUMB admitted it was a wind up. Clearly some out of touch overseas Hammers fan are recycling the story.

And clearly some out of touch Saints fans have fallen for it again..........
