ecuk268 Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 HCC have done a deal with Ageas Insurance to name the ground the Ageas Bowl. After 10 years, I'm sure everyone will still call it the Rosebowl. Only the TV will use the new name and I suppose that's what the sponsor pays for. Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 Just like St James Park in Newcastle. Or whatever it's called now. The "Weekend trips for the directors to screw Spanish prossies Memorial Stadium"

This Charming Man Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 £2m over six years apparently. ****** poor deal in my opinion. Not bad really considering the limited coverage it will get. The only time it will get a mention is when England play there.
Window Cleaner Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 £2m over six years apparently. ****** poor deal in my opinion. not really, it's free money, who cares about a name anyway. I used to go to the County Ground,Dean Park and the Utd Service Ground to watch Hampshire, never made an iota of difference to anyone what the ground was called. If someone gives you any money at all for it then you're quids in because it costs nothing and means nothing.
SO5 4BW Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 Suppose the club need to bring in some cash - but wish they'd still incorporated the Rosebowl name, and called it the Ageas Rosebowl - just as 'The Friends Provident St.Mary's Stadium' is much better than just the Reebok or the Emirates
krissyboy31 Posted 28 February, 2012 Share Posted 28 February, 2012 Don't really know what all the fuss is about. It's a new ground with a plastic American name, which has no meaning to Hampshire and the surrounding area. If it had been Surrey and the Oval (which seems to have a new name every year) then I as a fan and traditionalist I would have been much more upset.
