Ziggy Posted 9 August, 2008 Share Posted 9 August, 2008 Just got back from a trip to Norfolk. Visited Norwich for the day - absolutely nothing to do there. No wonder they all buy season tickets - absolutely sod all else to do there.
SNSUN Posted 9 August, 2008 Share Posted 9 August, 2008 It's true, it's not great. My missus is from there and her family are up there, and everytime I go I'm bored - so I end up crawling into the pub to get drunk.
Kadeem Hardison Posted 9 August, 2008 Share Posted 9 August, 2008 What did you think about the pedestrianisation of the city centre?
Ziggy Posted 10 August, 2008 Author Share Posted 10 August, 2008 What did you think about the pedestrianisation of the city centre? I only visited the swimming pool and Frankie and Benny's so didn't form an opinion.
Kadeem Hardison Posted 11 August, 2008 Share Posted 11 August, 2008 I'll be honest, I'm dead against it. People forget that traders still need access to DixONS.
South City Si Posted 11 August, 2008 Share Posted 11 August, 2008 Lived there for 3 years (uni). A nice city, but not much happening. Was glad to come back here! Lots of good pubs with good beer. If you're interested in historical buildings it's nice. If not your pretty f**ked.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 11 August, 2008 Share Posted 11 August, 2008 Girlfriend of mine was at Uni there so I used to visit frequently for the weekend. Apart from the pubs (rubbish at the time) the highlight was eating mushy peas with mint sauce in the market on a Saturday. Apart from the footy, I have not been back since. SNSUN Posted 11 August, 2008 Share Posted 11 August, 2008 By and large the drinking is all centered in two areas that link with each other, the Riverside complex and Prince of Wales road, so you don't have to go far to get drunk. Getting drunk is the best thing you can do there though, because once you've slept off your hangover, the only thing you can do in Norwich is go out and get drunk again. :-) Exaggeration there I suppose, but still, not great. Not really true as there alot of pubs in the Unthank Rd/Golden Triangle area where the students live. But they are proper pubs not bars. But there is one down nearly every street and most of them are decent enough boozers, good mix of both students and locals.
