Leeds Utd Away build up

You see, this is a big difference between Saints and West Ham. Our away support numbers are decent but theirs are up there with the best in the country. We're top of the league on the back of a 3-0 success on the road and if we get 1,000 up there (understandable Sky/price) we'll say that's a good turnout. West Ham have a 3,000 allocation for their trip to Elland Road coming up and have sold most already. If it was on Sky I think they'd still have 2,000+ there.

We're gonna have to get used to these prices because that will be average if we go up.

All true. West Ham are bigger club than us though.

I live in Leeds and I'm still not going. Money so tight at the moment (as it is for everyone) and I simply can't justify paying that price when I could go down the local to watch (and keep very quiet as I do so - The Station in Crossgates is not somewhere to shout your gob off). Will go to Hull a couple of weeks later though as no doubt their prices will be a little more realistic. Bates out!

I agree the prices are disgusting, but surely the cost of travel to Hull will make it a more expensive away than Leeds?

Why are people so obbsessed about away numbers? I'd much rather we packed out SMS at home games week in week out than worry about the fact WHU are giving Ken bates an extra £72,000.

Hull treavel is quite cheap if you planned ahead, although 2 days off work.

Managed to get return train fare for £19.50 form London and hotel room sharing a twin for £15 per person match tickets £24 by the looks of things, so not too expensive a trip

I take it you've missed all the quotes from various players and Adkins regarding how important it is to see good numbers of vocal travelling support?

I have no doubt they like to see a few fans cheering them on. But the way some of you lot go on you'd think away support was the most important factor in deciding how well a club is doing/how big they are/how great they are blah blah blah. Honestly if Man utd took no fans to any away games they'd still be a huge club.

Gutted I can't make this one. I'm praying for a win, I'm on a stag do in Bristol so watching it there, and I'll be with at least 3 skates.

I'm confident, I think we've turned a corner and will carry this sort of form on for a long while yet.

It is one of the ways of judging how big/well supported a club is, most football fans think the same I think you'll find.

No most football fans just use it as away to try and justify they're a bigger club (what ever that means) than whoever. Really if we get promoted as champions this season will anyone give a f.uck that WHU took 2000 more fans to Leeds for a game?

You obviously don't care, some people do though and want to talk about it. It's the way the world works. Nothing worth getting all worked up about.

How stupid of Leicester if they let this happen. Reminds me of when we were last in the Championship and loaned out Dyer to another team... Burnley? Anyway in the month or so he was there he ended up helping them above us in the table. There's only 4 points between Leeds and leicester.

Got a few mates who are Leicester season ticket holders and they said he's been terrible for them and his mistakes have cost them a few goals. He'll probably do more harm than good at Leeds. Ha.

spot on, Mills must be costing Leicester a fortune and he keeps getting suspended.Perhaps Nigel Pearson doesn't think much of him anyway.

I would contemplate playing deano over morgan just because i can see it being a physical game especially in the centre on midfield.

It continues to amaze me how many don't see what Schneiderlin's role in the team is. He is often used by Adkin's at the base of the diamond to sit in front of Hooiveld and Fonte and provide a screen for the defence. He is a defensive midfielder and is very good at winning the ball in the tackle and starting Saints on the attack with his range of passing.

Agreed, but wouldn't even call them tackles, more interceptions or just nipping the ball off an attackers toe and striding forward with it. I had my doubts about Schneirderlin previously, but he's really stepped up as this season has gone on. Adkins no longer rotates the central 3, Cork and Schneiderlin have made that partnership their own.

this sort of comment is becoming rather tiresome. Morgan is the most physical of all of our CMs,the fastest and no doubt the dirtiest in times of dire need as well. He's become a midfield enforcer who can pass the ball or take it forward of late.

I agree with you, but i think that hammond moves the ball forward alot quicker then both cork and morgan, i also think hes better at breaking up play. i could see the likes of michael brown targeting sniederlin.

Hammond just panics and gets the ball away as fast as possible. Yes sometimes it goes to someone who wants/needs it but most the time its a throw in or a useless hoof to the opposition. Morgan has earned his place in the team because he can win the ball, repeatedly. Once he's won the ball he has the ability to do one of several options, including passing to a team member, holding it up to create a break in the opponents play or even running with the ball into space.

There is no good reason to drop Morgan now, his fitness will be tested over the run in but his game has expanded way beyond Hammond's and provides something very essential to the team

I was of the opinion that Morgan would have one good game out of 2 or 3 however I will admit he has been playing really well of late. during our current unbeaten run he has played well in all of them which arguably is a big reason why the team is back to winning ways. if a team can get a firm control of the ball in the middle of the park then you stand much greater chance of winning.

Totally agree with that. Midfield has been under our control a lot better in the last few games when we have had this steady partnership. Would still like to see Morgan or Cork pop up on the edge of the box now and then...
