Watford 0 - 3 Saints - Post Match Reaction.

Gone are the days we struggle at places with a **** pitch. We juts adapt and trounce the opposition now.

We have so many strings to our bow it's great to see. We can pass teams off the pitch if we need to, but we can also mix it up and play a strong and physical game if required.

This is probably the fittest and strongest team we've had in a long time.

brilliant result....lambert is a legend.

lee sounded great

who would have thought that between west ham and brum (both at home) would have got just 1 point..

top of the league..

some interesting fixtures coming up.

west ham have to play cardiff, brum and leicester away with reading at home

brum have brum, reading etc still to play

those worried about reading...they have to go to, west ham, saints, brighton and more importantly birmingham last day of the season

And with Brighton looking better again and having the play-offs in sight going to the Amex will be a difficult game.

Birmingham have obviously gotten weighed down by their cup replay and probably underestimated Forest today although that was always on the cards. Forest really aren't a bad side if they can score.

A horrible pitch against a team in good form at home was always tough, but it sounds like we adapted well and pulled together to do enough today to win comfortably. Got a real sense of momentum and resilience in the squad and whilst I'm sure there will be ups and downs to come, I am quite optimistic about our chances.

Great stuff.

Top notch. Great timing for a trip home!

Our depth is excellent - probably the best in the division (and the best we've had in a very long time), and that will count for a hell of a lot come April.

Everyone keeps anointing West Ham as an automatic but I'm not convinced. There are some good teams with momentum in this division. I would laugh my arse off, pretty much literally, if they had to battle it out in the playoffs or - better still - miss out altogether.

YAY .... just checked on the Prediction league and see that I actually put 3-0 not 3-1. All a bit fuzzy this morn after a late night. Inspired decision all the same!!

About time we had pay back against Twotford. Numerous home and away losses by 3 goals been wiped out by a 7 - 0 aggregate this season.

Least were experienced in someone breathing down our necks! Great win today, this is the time to go on our run. Unbeaten in quite a few, including Brum, Cardiff, Burnley and West Ham. 2 winnable home games after next week too.

Hope Ricky and Lallana were precautionary subs. Were looking really good at the moment.!

West Ham's fate will be decided in their games against Reading and Birmingham and perhaps by the result between Reading and Birmingham.

After his form today and the injuries to others we will miss Lee if he can't make next week's match due to Japan call up.

Hope the injuries to Rickie and Adam come up okay as we will be short up front otherwise. NA appeared reluctant to put BS on as if he may still be affected by his "niggles".

Amazingly, Connelly may end up being our only available fit striker ... who'da thunk it!

Phew, fantastic result at a ground that's been a banana skin in the past.

Just as important are the results around us, despite Reading's form still think that W.Ham and Brum are the teams to watch and I'm sooo glad Brum lost today. I'm really hoping they have a dip in form (they are due one).

Reading will crash and burn at some stage IMO.

Another massive game at Leeds next week (TBH they are all pretty massive from now onwards).

They also have Cardiff and Leicester away, and also Leeds - who have a better squad than their position shows and will benefit from the management change.

Calm down, no need to get all dramatic on a great day for us ;-)

At least Chung Son will be able to show them his war wounds in the Japan Squad next week. He should learn the soliloquy from Henry V "and these wounds I had at Watford" etc etc.

Jaidi posted on Twitter that the injury to Lallana is minor (confirmed by THEVMAN) and that Rickie isn't injured at all.

Edit: but this just posted:

@jordansibley: Adkins confirms knocks to Lallana (groin) and Lambert (ankle) post match - too early to say if serious. #saintsfc

I hope that's right but there's no such thing as "a minor groin injury". Many of them turn niggling and recurrent. Fingers (and everything else) crossed.
