washsaint Posted 15 June, 2012 Share Posted 15 June, 2012 fair play 76er.......its a long old season and Philly could still go on a run (unlikely) but there is a changing of the guard. Being able to watch Harper, Strasburg, Gio and some of the other young guns like Lombardozzi and Moore is a real treat. Just hope they can keep it up but the future is bright and the biggest challenge will be keeping everyone happy as Davey could put out two strong first teams right now. This season seems so much more interesting than recent seasons......

This season seems so much more interesting than recent seasons...... Yeah, best young roster in MLB. Strasburg and Harper especially are a bit special and will be a fun few years if you keep all those guys together. Nats went down the high draft pick route and came up trumps, whereas the Phils sold out the farm to bring in high end talent and have had an amazing roster for the last few years and it's been a great ride but probably time for a rebuild now. Different fan base in Philly who won't accept being bottom for a few years so expect the wheeling and dealing to commence shortly. In which case the Nats might as well win it all this year, just to p*** off the Yankees and Red Sux!!!
DanW Posted 10 May, 2013 Share Posted 10 May, 2013 The Cleveland Indians are on fire right now. Yes, they won one game on a bogus call by the umps but I don't care. This run of games has been great. Too bad they were so far out that they are still in third despite their 10 wins in 11 games. Last night there was an illegal pitching change which, while the team that made the illegal move ultimately lost and therefore no one will care, creates a new round of "don't the umpires even know their own rules?" Until a few days ago, Boston unexpectedly had the best record in baseball. They've now lost three in a row and have dropped to 3rd. The LA Dodgers and their quadrillion dollar payroll (only a slight exaggeration) are in the cellar. I just bought tickets to see the Yankees play the Indians in June. Woo! What fun all around!
