First Lampitt, now loaning out a player that is actually a regular for them.

Seems Birch is actually making some dramatic changes down there. The fans must be outraged!

Although they are now probably expecting Tevez to come in as cover, just till the end of the season. That's what the FL owes them after all.

I am astonished they signed him at all, given the financial situation they were in (well obviously not that astonished because it is Pompey after all).

The Barnsley boss was right, how can you have any sympathy for them when they had financial trouble, but still went out and signed Lawrence, Kitson, Halford etc all on prem wages. It's ludicrous.

I don't want them to go out of business, but relegation down to L1 is the least they deserve IMO.

So does this confirm he was the unnamed player that was on £30,000 a week?

that must be Kitson surely.

The thing is no matter how much a player is on, a fair whack of it is witheld as PAYE income tax,for a player on 30K a week the PAYE would be about what 12K a week, so Pompey pay the player his 120 K a month less the HMRC cut which would be about 50K a month I guess. As they don't actually seem to pay the taxman very often then 30K a week is a nonsensical figure because it only actually costs them about 17K a week.
