Great to see Micah Richards called up tbh, Capello had something against him for some reason - but he's been terrific for City this year.

 

Surprised there's no chambo tbh, this would have been a perfect game to blood him in.

I'm going to watch Mr. Adriansfc, but only because I have sod all else to do, don't see much live football on television and primarily because it's the Dutch.

 

I'm curious to see how this mixed (putting it nicely) England team will do but I'm more keen to see the Dutch in action, as I say.

I don't watch many England friendlies but this atmosphere is shocking! I really don't understand why everyone rates Gerrard so much either, he always wants to make the killer pass but just ends up hitting it long, can he keep it on the deck??

That was a pretty good game I thought the England was a little bit unlucky. Highlight for me was learning that Leighton Baines nickname is "Bainesy!" Pretty much suns up English football that.

Didn't think it was that bad to be honest. Ten minute bad patch from first goal. Apart from that we had most of the good chances. Thought the defensive midfielders needed to sit more and offer greater protection to the back four. First goal wouldn't have happened if this was the case.

 

TBH Gerrard and for a lot of the match Young, were where things broke down creatively and they are two of the more senior players. I'm kinda of the opinion that we need to let the youngsters grow together and accept they'll make the odd mistake. I'd rather that than see all of the old players back in the squad.

Don't get the hype around Welbeck and Sturridge at all.

 

Sod all strength in depth, England has a better chance of winning the Euro Millions than Euro 2012. Adrian Chiles, Paul Ince and Andy Townsend, what a trio of ****ing muppets.

he is alright....not a top 4 prem player but has more about him that the others....

welbeck is terrible IMO....just a quick player man U are using whilst they can't afford a top striker.....as for jones...the way the press go on about him as some sort of franco barasi is embarrassing

I agree, More General Franco than Barasi. Maybe Franco Benali...

I just don't get it..

on the radio earlier, they were going into meltdown about parker being captain (for one whole game) and said we should be building for the future and give the arm band to jones..

 

ffs...why are we always building for the future...lets just live in the now and stop thrusting these players who don't play week in week out for their clubs into the england lime light

 

also, the hype about the decking armband is hilarious....may as well come with super human powers and be responsible for saving the world the way some go on

Building for the future and playing younger prospects is a daft thing to do. If they play like that and lose, we'll tumble down the rankings, meaning we get tougher opposition in the future until eventually we're drawn in incredibly tough groups and can't qualify anyway.

 

We'll do well to get out of our group at 2012. Ukraine and France are formidable opposition, then there's Sweden who we just about managed to beat in a friendly not so long ago.

And nor, in all likelihood, will any of the other likely candidates. Terry, Ferdinand and Gerrard will all probably be too old/unfit to be relied upon by then. You could argue they already are.

 

I don't see why the captaincy is so important anyway, no other country really gives a **** who wears an armband and gets to call heads or tails before kickoff.

The new kit is crap. The badge with three red lions is tantamount to treason. Bobby Moore didn't have 3 red lions on his shirt when he lifted the World Cup.

 

**** the game, I'm more concerned with the badge.
