I really am puzzled

 

 

WHY THE FUK IS FRAZER CAMPBELL IN IT. WHAT THE HELL HAS HE DONE...?

It constantly annoys me how little some players have to do to get a cap. That's been the biggest downside of the last 3 managers, caps are meaningless now. I remember players taking years to get in, proving themselves year after year. Now we have Campbell come back and impress for what, TWO games? I'm not saying he's bad, no-one knows, but he hasn't played enough football or proven himself that's for sure.

 

Might be biassed but Lambert has done 100 times more already. This short term attitude gets us nowhere. 2 or 3 games and you're in. 3 good months for Andy Carroll and he's in, then worth 35m. Sorry, but I don't think even one good season is enough, lots of players struggle after that. Did we learn nothing from Michael Ricketts?! Sometimes average or poor players have good spells.

 

For Campbell to deserve a cap, he should be playing a full season, playing consistently well and scoring 15 goals or more IMO. At very least.

 

Truth seems to be that if you're not playing for Man U,Man C,Arsenal,Spurs or Chelsea your chances of an England call up are pretty slim.Once you get into those clubs you'll probably get selected even if you've played very few games.Players who want an international career know that they've a better chance of getting one in Citeh reserves than at Blackburn or Fulham.

I wonder what Danny Graham, the second-highest English scorer in the Premier League this season, thinks about Campbell playing two games this season and getting a call-up ahead of him.

 

Also baffled how Stewart Downing consistently gets picked despite being consistently ****.
