SuperSAINT Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2620841,00.html? Good experience for him, but would've perhaps thought he'd join a team who play it on the deck.
The9 Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 I'm not sure why you'd want him playing at a ground-based club, given that Ben Reeves is the King of the Undercut Pass. I haven't yet seen him play a ball in the air which he hasn't sliced through and floated, perfect for a hulking target man in the lower leagues with a neck the width of his head.
SuperMikey Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 Daggers are a good team, will be good experience for him. Been very impressed with him whenever i've seen him play.
saints-cris Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 Daggers are a good team, will be good experience for him. Been very impressed with him whenever i've seen him play. Have you seen the league 2 table? Good player though, hopefully it'll be an experience that benefits him.
S-Clarke Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 Daggers are a good team, will be good experience for him. Been very impressed with him whenever i've seen him play. They're really not, they're utter utter crap. Rooted to the bottom of L2 as they have been most of the season. They were half decent in L1 but they lost 99% of their squad upon relegation. Not sure this move will be massively beneficial for him in terms of winning and confidence building! They've just lost 5-0 at home.
Sour Mash Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 Daggers are a good team, will be good experience for him. Been very impressed with him whenever i've seen him play. No they're not, they're utter sh**e. Guess competitive football on a regular basis will help regardless, but I definitely reckon he should be playing ina better team than that.
Thedelldays Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 Daggers are a good team, will be good experience for him. Been very impressed with him whenever i've seen him play. You really have no idea what you are on about
SuperMikey Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 I thought they were mid-table in L2! Shows what I know.
barney_b64 Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 They would be top of league 1 if they had Lambert though.....
doddisalegend Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 Exactly. As Poyet pointed out last season playing at D&R will be like a home away from home for young Reeves............
Thedelldays Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 I thought they were mid-table in L2! Shows what I know. being mid table in league 2 does not make them a good team either..
SuperMikey Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 being mid table in league 2 does not make them a good team either.. A good team in terms of clubs where Ben could've gone on loan. Championship he would be struggling to make the bench, League One he would be a bit-part player at best, but in League Two he can hopefully get 5 or 6 games under his belt in the month that he's there at Daggers. If he impresses on this loan spell, he'll go out for a few months to a good League One team (Brentford etc) next season and then if he impresses there he could get a loan spell at a lower Championship club for the remainder of that year. He's got good potential, his game has definitely improved year-on-year and it's good to see him playing well and getting this move to earn him some more experience. Now, for those of you who were at the Millwall replay - "Number 1 is Ben Reeves, Number 2 is Ben Reeves..."
badgerx16 Posted 29 February, 2012 Posted 29 February, 2012 Feedback from people at the Daggers win over Morecambe yesterday - they reckon that Reeves playing as a wide attacker was probably the best player on show, good speed and vision, and a couple of good attempts on goal, ( though he did put his best chance over the bar from about 10 yards ).
Chez Posted 29 February, 2012 Posted 29 February, 2012 why on earth are we sending out such a talent ball player to a league 2 hoof ball side that plays on a ploughed field? Very strange decision.
sfc4prem Posted 29 February, 2012 Posted 29 February, 2012 He's bound to impress there. He'd be a top L1 player even at his age now.
Barry the Badger Posted 29 February, 2012 Posted 29 February, 2012 they reckon that Reeves playing as a wide attacker was probably the best player on show, ). He really needs to be if he's ever going to make an impact for us.
Chez Posted 29 February, 2012 Posted 29 February, 2012 he was the stand out player in the FA Cup game against Millwall the other week. League 2 seems to low to me.
Andy Durman Posted 1 March, 2012 Posted 1 March, 2012 Learning the trade. D & R is a great place to get some perspective. It'll toughen him up & make him a better player
