Coventry need point to stay up and relegate Skates

if the result doesn't matter to us, re-register Le Tiss or Benali as players, bring them on as last minute sub to dribble to length of the pitch and then smash one into our own net for an own goal and a 1-0 defeat to send the fish fiddlers down.

I really don't subscribe to the theory that the PFC players let West Brom win.

Pompey fans maybe, but not players.

The club has been corrupt for decades, now their deeds are bearing fruitation, any part Saints can play in making it more embarrassing/tragic for them I would really love it!

Take the scenario that we are already up by the last game and if Coventry win the Skates will definitely go down.

Could we imagine that any home fans would actively encourage and cheer a Coventry goal?

Yes, without a doubt.

For what it's worth, even if Pompey had beaten West Brom in 2005, we'd have gone down anyway, so their claims that they "sent us down" are inaccurate.

I think even if we played the youth, with the intention of drawing against Coventry, we'd still win, because when I've seen Coventry play they've been truly awful.

I think though that whatever happens, we'll need all three points on that last day of the season, and I think Pompey will be down before that. Their ten point deduction will have been a massive boost to those clubs scrambling around at the bottom.

Even more of a dilemma to my mind would be ...

If Saints win = Go up as Champions, Coventry go down, Pompey stay up

A draw or loss = Go up as second, Pompey go down, Coventry stay up

What would you go for?

Win, Champions.

Honestly I think I'd want us to be Champions, second is ok but last year's "having to listen to Brighton fans go on and on" experience has made me want us to win it more - whatever happens to them is a bonus, but winning a trophy would be in the record books forever.

The Skates would already be a league below us then anyway, just like from 1989-2003, so 2 divisions wouldn't really matter, and there's always the possibility of watching them suffer in 2012/13 when forced (finally) to do what we did in 2009 and probably with a further points deduction.

Their home record is what will keep them up, if anything, I reckon. Their remaining fixtures at the Ricoh look pretty kind, to say the least, while away from home they've managed a whole 3 points so far. If they're going to stay up, they'll have done the business before the trip to St Mary's.

Surely the best scenario will be Coventry just need to equal what Pompey do. Pompey lose anyway so Cov stay up having just been beaten by us to make us champs. We all celebrate together.

Bit like Walsall last year.

Bit wierd that day. Not often you go to a football match were both sets of supporters are going nuts with happiness at the end.....

This is a no brainer - we will need to win to guarantee any sight of the automatic places by then...and so what if Pompey stay up?

Whilst we will all be wishing them well in April at SMS (if we allow them any tickets) I'm sure the last thing on their minds will be relegation!

The bubble will burst in Britannia Road for sure after we hit them for six!

If our season is settled (hopefully with a promotion sealed and not preparing for play off disappointment) and they're still in relegation trouble then I would happily see us drop points vs Coventry to send them down.

They still chant about 2005, even though they never sent us down.

Personally think Skates will stay up with ease though.

As much as I don't like the blue few, I couldn't give a toss what happens to them. Win every game, that's got to be our aim.
Ditto - if we lose to Coventry then I will be ******ed right off, regardless of whether or not it means Pompey are relegated. Besides, we will defo need a result in the last match.

Not only that, but we beat them twice earlier in the season (cup and league), so we had more success against them than most other teams that season.

I wouldn't be so sure.

I have a West Brom season ticket holder in my office. They said Pompey literally rolled over for them, it was obvious apparently. For one of their goals the Pompey centre backs ran in opposite directions for the WBA player to run through the middle and score.

See how lethargic they are here...

It's hardly a dilemma, Champions all the way. I want to see us lift that Championship trophy and finish 1st and win a division. Would you really sacrifice that in order to relegate a team who would be irrelevant to us the following season?

Simples - If we can go up auto & send our fishy friends down at the same time, I will do a man wee in my pants.

Firstly, we thump them 5 or 6 nil at St Marys. Then we enter the game against Coventry already crowned as champions. Pompey and Coventy are locked on the same points and same goal difference (due to saints thrashing them). Both Pompey and Coventry are losing 2 v 0, but with minutes left on the clock Coventry pull one back to send Pompey down.

Imagine the atmosphere at St Marys after that....sha la la la la.

Who can better that ?

As above but we all run on the pitch and Lucy Pinder sucks us all off. Thats better than yours.

Knowing the FL's form against us we'll be guarenteed promotion, let Cov sneak a point, FL charge us with not trying, bring back Mahwhinney especially for us, invent a new penalty to dock us enough points to drop below playoffs.

We owe it to all the teams in the league to try and win every game. That's the morals and values that separates us from the **** down the road.
