It's pop, meaning designed to appeal to a broad market. Broad markets usually mean a low quality, or something simplistic.

We all enjoy some of it, but for anyone with any taste it's not going to be their favourite. Same way you may have a preferred beer, whisky, wine, cheese etc if you're into one of those and appreciate the finer things, but can still down a fosters and dairylea some nights.

TBF I like Blur and they won an award.

I sat there watching it with the bird, and everytime the nominations came up and just sat there saying ' Who?'.....'Who?'........'Who?'...

Glad One Direction won though, they are super talented and probably going to be bigger than The Beatles.

Can someone help me out?

I never understand the objective of discussions whereby person A says music X is good and music Y is rubbish.

Surely person A should be saying they like music X but don't like music Y rather than making a subjective judgement as to which music is better than the other?

If person A doesn't like music Y it doesn't mean music Y is bad. That would be a terribly arrogant leap of logic...

Or the voice of experience ?

A little from column A, and a little from column B.

I related the SaintsWeb anguish to the "scouse massive" in my car on the school run this morning, citing my opinion that it was probably repeat-dialling that secured the vote.

However, my 12 year old promptly told me "you can only vote once". I asked how they stopped people from voting more than once, and she said that you had to give your email in.

So, my new theory is that there are a feckton of new gmail and hotmail addresses that have been created to get them this accolade.

This was met with the following response from the 16 year old ( not a One Direction fan, btw ).

"Could you be arsed?"

Rigging polls by multiple voting? Now, that gives me an idea the next time a Saints player appears on one of those online polls.... ;-)
