LGTL Posted 22 February, 2012 Share Posted 22 February, 2012 Yes I am there to watch saints but won't be able to go to both games as with new family have commitments, people may call me plastic but with the distance cost and time involved it's just not that easy. Fair enough. While it is good marketing from saints as there is a chance of both selling out when donny def wouldn't have, it is a pain in the arse for people like yourself. jawillwill Posted 23 February, 2012 Share Posted 23 February, 2012 I can understand why linking it to the donny game will improve sales for one of the less glamorous ties of the season. but will there not be a window of general sale to those on the database too? wasn't this strategy of linked tickets and no general sale the reason we didn't sell out v united? (having said that, this is obviously a bigger, more important game so should, I hope, sell out)
hodds Posted 23 February, 2012 Share Posted 23 February, 2012 dont mind linking it with another game, but could have at least given us a choice of 2 or 3 games to choose as can't make the donny game.

I guess Barnsley and Ipswich are too soon for them, Reading will be a near sell out anyway.Coventry will sell out cos it's the last game of the season which leaves Doncaster . thornhill_saints Posted 24 February, 2012 Share Posted 24 February, 2012 A Saints Fan, A Bournemouth Fan, A Brighton Fan, A Portsmouth Fan were all on an airplane together when one of the engines fails. The pilot explains the situation to the all of the passengers. He tells them if someone doesn't jump out they will all be dead. He asks who is prepared to die for the greater good, adding that they will be remembered as a hero forever. The brave Bournemouth fan says 'Ok then, i will do this for the glory of my Fellow footie fans and jumps out. The pilot turns around and tells the remaining passengers that the plane is still going down and someone else must do the right thing. The Brighton Fan tells every one that as he is the oldest out of all the passengers, he will take the plunge, so he jumps out . Again the pilot turns around and says, its helping but we need 1 more to jump for the rest of the passengers to survive. So the Saints Fan says 'well I hoped it wouldn't come to this, but I will do this for the greater good and for the glory of my country. So he grabs the Pompey Fan and throws him out the door

bender Posted 25 February, 2012 Share Posted 25 February, 2012 Don't you have to buy your Doncaster ticket at the same time as the Skate ticket? If anyone wants a Donny ticket but not a skate one, please pm me.
Crazy Diamond Posted 26 February, 2012 Share Posted 26 February, 2012 Have just noticed that the Cardiff v West Ham game next month will be on the BBC. Bensfcno1 Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 I dont understand why They are waiting so long to put tickets on sale. The Skates have already released there remaining 900 to general sale. Also noticed on their site they have a list for prohibited items at St Marys, with muscial instrument listed. With an example given 'eg. Bell' Made me chukle.

Saints foreva Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 Yep, quick look at it seems Sky have gone for Sunderland vs Tottenham over our game. I'd imagine streams online will be available somewhere for the fixture as I'd be very surprised if we were not the featured game on The Football League show. Window Cleaner Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 No. They have a premier league game on at that time. Let's face it we're on Sky the week after so it's unlikely 2 weeks in a row.Plus they only get so many NPC games in a season.
Saints foreva Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 So, if the game still isn't sold out by the time we go to kick off vs Doncaster what will the club do? Drop the whole +1 game thing or just stop selling Pompey tickets and have empty seats around the ground?

jawillwill Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 What do you think? I'd like to think there'd be some common sense, but I imagine there'll be uproar from some people if they go on general sale, saying that they were conned into buying Donny tickets when they didn't need to. (Having said that, I'm out of the country for Doncaster, so I hope I'm wrong).
SB Posted 27 February, 2012 Share Posted 27 February, 2012 ^ As it's not on Sky and could be the last time we play them for a while I'm sure it will sell out, I'm buying the donny ticket even though I can't make it, frustrating but good from a financial aspect. Saint Garrett Posted 28 February, 2012 Author Share Posted 28 February, 2012 There is no priority. I have emailed the ticket office about this game and that I am unable to go to the Doncaster match. I asked if it could be linked to an alternative game, they said no. I asked if it would be available if it went to general sale. I was told that even if it does go to general sale, you still have to buy a Doncaster ticket. At no point will the game be unlinked. Absolute joke. If they were going to be so strict on it being linked, they could have atleast given us a choice of games to go to - especially if Reading is on Sky. It just means that there is going to be loads of Doncaster tickets sold, but may be loads of empty seats where people cannot go but want to go to the Skates match
JRM Posted 28 February, 2012 Share Posted 28 February, 2012 that just cant be right, for example if we only sell 26k for Doncaster are you telling me they will leave the other unsold tickets for the skates game rather than let people buy them between 24th March and 7th April, that would be ridiculous and promote us straight to the top of the idiot league, i reckon this is just another example of bad communication by the club. they should have offered to link it with other games like Ipswich on a tuesday or Barnsley as plenty of people work shifts etc can't neccessarily do Donny at home but have been to loads of other home games
krissyboy31 Posted 28 February, 2012 Share Posted 28 February, 2012 At no point will the game be unlinked. That just can't be right because that infers that no tickets will be sold after the Donny game. Saint Garrett Posted 28 February, 2012 Author Share Posted 28 February, 2012 (edited) Now I don't know whether to buy a ticket for the Donny + Pompey games so I definitely get one for Pompey and waste the Donny ticket, or just leave it and hope to get one after that. Just means I'll end up paying £60 odd for the pompey game. Edited 28 February, 2012 by Saint Garrett
