Exactly, didnt we get fleeced the last time they went into admin.3200 tickets at £25 a go is a lot of money which they will spunk away long before they are due to give it to us. Saints foreva Posted 21 February, 2012 Share Posted 21 February, 2012 Didn't even think about this. Haven't seen anything announced. I can't remember any of our games against them not being on tv since 1996. Pretty shocking if it's not tbh, as not only is it a derby game, it could decide a lot in the battle for promotion and relegation. Guess it means it will be a lot harder to get tickets. Arsenal play Man City and it's the final day of the SPL on the same day so I suspect Sky will be more interested in covering that. From memory one of the fixtures at St. Mary's (I think it was the League fixture) in the relegation season wasn't on Sky Sports/Prem Plus. Think they may have shown the F.A Cup game on BBC though. Tokyo-Saint Posted 21 February, 2012 Share Posted 21 February, 2012 For every big game it really f&cks me off that season ticket holders mates get priority over everyone else, regardless to whether they have ever been to a game or not. I can't get a season ticket but go to at least 20 games a season home and away, yet some season ticket holders mate always get priority over me. When are we going to introduce a points system based on the number of games you go to a season? Our ticket office are such amatures in comparrison to other clubs. terrasaint Posted 21 February, 2012 Share Posted 21 February, 2012 Don't you have to buy your Doncaster ticket at the same time as the Skate ticket? Just rung ticket office helpline. Was told you can book Doncaster prior to March 11th but make a note of booking reference to quote when you later book for Pompey. I have one slight worry though. If every season ticket holder buys an extra ticket, that is 25000 tickets gone before non season ticket holders get a chance to buy!!!!!!!!!!!! Lord Duckhunter Posted 21 February, 2012 Share Posted 21 February, 2012 I cant work out whether this is the best system or not. When I used to have a ST I'm sure we just got priority over away and cup games (gave it up in 2004). As I get to 75% of home matches, know a lot of S/T holders, so most supporters who attend regulary will be in the same boat and should be able to get one. So that's a good thing. The bad side of it is that it doesn't take into account the loyalty of the extra ticket body. Just texted 2 mates for 2 tickets, one said fine, other one said he is taking his brother. Haven't seen his brother at a game for a couple of years, and I doubt if he would be going if we had Watford on that day. Will be able to get extra ticket, no problem, but bit annoyed about having to scramble about texting people or taking my chances a week later on database sales. May get my nipper a S/T and an adult one next to it, and use it for family/ friends ect , next season. Maybe worthwhile if they're going to continue to sell like this for big games. Dont really want to get into all this "I'm a better supporter than you debate", but do need some sort of loyalty/membership scheme if we go up. Give it to Ron Posted 21 February, 2012 Share Posted 21 February, 2012 So is the ticket office actually open on those Sundays? Saint137 Posted 21 February, 2012 Share Posted 21 February, 2012 As a season ticket holder I find this very unfair - why should I be able to get a ticket for my old man (who goes to a couple of games a year at most) over someone who has been to every game but isn't a STH? Club know from the database who has been to the most games and they should sell tickets on that basis. Having said that, I will get one for the old man, and stick him in Block
teamsaint Posted 21 February, 2012 Share Posted 21 February, 2012 they really ought to get membership up and running again. The cost would cover the admin. if this is a way of persuading people to buy STs, its a very odd thing to do, especially since they did very little to encourage sales this year. Incidentally, the failure to sell as many Sts as they might have is hitting attendances.

Orange Posted 21 February, 2012 Share Posted 21 February, 2012 We need a 'caps' system next year IF we go up. A simple online website. Know friends from other clubs who have a good system, Spurs for example. Needs to also recognise non ST holders, but who attend most aways. From the club's point a view, i think it would be benefitial because it would perhaps spur people on to go to more games. Not suggesting we're on par with clubs like Spurs, but for big home games, and all London aways etc there would be a scrap for tickets. Of course if we do go up, nothing will happen. If we were playing Donny on Easter Saturday and not Skates I would be there. I've had to text round mates asking for 2 extra tickets . I had no trouble getting them, but that's beside the point. Most of the ST holders thought it was a bit strange, and some have had work collagues or mates who dont normally bother to go, pestering them already for tickets. Seems a strange thing to do, particulary as they seemed to discourage ST sales preseason. I guess it's just a simple and cheap option, with the added benefit of extra ST sales next season, I'm defo starting to think about getting my lad and me one and taking the hit or selling them on/giving them to family, for midweek/sun games.
