Saintmike666 Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Barnsley v Birmingham 19:45 Millwall v Middlesbrough 19:45 Blackpool v West Ham 20:00 Could be a great day for Saints! c'mon Barnsley and Millwall. A good draw in the Blackpool game would suit nicely.
student Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 All away games so you'd expect one of the favourites to drop points in there. I'd be delighted with what you said.
eelpie Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Wins for Barnsley, Millwall and Blackpool would be best, but if any of our rivals drop points it is good for us.
Appy Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Anybody else agree that a West Ham win isn't a bad result?
EBS1980 Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Home Win Home Win Home Win or Draw Pretty please.
SuperMikey Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Don't really care about the Boro result, can't see them challenging us anymore. Blackpool to beat West Ham please, and Brum to draw against Barnsley.
This Charming Man Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Anybody else agree that a West Ham win isn't a bad result? The main thing is putting space between us and 3rd place. Couldn't care less if we win the league, yes it would be nice to go up as champions but promotion is the main aim here.
Saint_Ash Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 The big game here is Barnsley V Brum. That's the one where I really want the home team to win. I don't think 'brough will have enough to really challenge for top two but would still be nice to see them drop points. Blackpool V West Ham - I'd like Blackpool to win to see the WHU fans start squirming but a draw would be a good result what with Blackpool creeping up. Even a West Ham win does us a favour so any result here could help us.
beancounter saint Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Think a draw between Blackpool and West Ham would definitely be best result. 2 promotion rivals and they only get 2 points between them rather than 3.
Saintjersey Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Barnsley to beat Brum, Millwall to beat Boro and Blackpool to draw with West Ham please.
Saintmike666 Posted 21 February, 2012 Author Posted 21 February, 2012 Anybody else agree that a West Ham win isn't a bad result? I'd sooner a draw. But the most important thing is the gap between us and 3rd, not us and 2nd. So no, I don't think a West Ham win would be all that bad.
Leslie Charteris Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 West Ham dropping points is the most important thing. Our fate remains in our hands as far as the other teams are concerned, whatever their results tonight.
saints-cris Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Anybody else agree that a West Ham win isn't a bad result? With you there, long as 3rd, 4th, 5th etc slip up, us and West Ham can fly away with it.
S-Clarke Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Blackpool v West Ham - draw is the best outcome there IMO. Brum to lose and Boro to lose. All sorted.
S-Clarke Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Anybody else agree that a West Ham win isn't a bad result? I don't want to see us get knocked off the top though...
Thedelldays Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 I don't want to see us get knocked off the top though... tough one....just hope the others slip up as any result in the west ham game is a good one...depending on how you look at it
Window Cleaner Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 If all the games between our rivals (ie 2nd to 10th or so) from now to the end of the season were draws we'd only need about another 20 points ourselves.
kpturner Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Blackpool are a huge threat to the second automatic promotion spot. I do not want them to win. In fact, I would prefer West Ham to win. Over the next few weeks I would rather be second (with a decent gap to third) than top (with no decent gap to third).
alpine_saint Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 all home wins. We still play Blackpool.
This Charming Man Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 all home wins. We still play Blackpool. Which is why a WHU win tonight and a win for us up there would put us nicely ahead of them.
Thedelldays Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 more I think about it...the more I would prefer a west ham win........ would not fancy going to blackpool with a win for them taking them above us..
S-Clarke Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 all home wins. We still play Blackpool. Wouldn't agree with that, if anyone wins that the best result is for WHU to win. Still would take a draw now though.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 more I think about it...the more I would prefer a west ham win........ would not fancy going to blackpool with a win for them taking them above us.. but it wouldn't at this point in time, Blackpool are 7 pts back with just the one game in hand.Even if they beat West Ham they'd still be 4 points adrift. They also have to play Reading and Hull not to mention Brighton. Can't really see Blackpool being any much of a threat unless they beat West Ham and Reading and that would help us no end.I think quite a few top sides still have to play Brighton at the Amex and that's a hard place to win...as we found out.

Dark Munster Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Wouldn't agree with that, if anyone wins that the best result is for WHU to win. Still would take a draw now though. Would it be too much to ask for a mass brawl, 5 players sent off for both teams, match abandoned, and a 0-3 defeat awarded to both teams?
toofarnorth Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Barnsley & Millwall win Blackpool/WHU draw please
SNSUN Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Ironically I have an inkling Blackpool will win tonight, which on the face of it is good, because West Ham will stay below us and lose one of their games in hand, but that means Blackpool are 3 points closer to us. I don't care about West Ham in spite of hating them for their egotism, as long as the sides below us drop points. So, in summery, I hope it's a draw! Boro I struggle to worry about at the moment. My support tonight is on Barnsley!
thegaffer Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 West Ham dont win in midweek!!Ironically I have an inkling Blackpool will win tonight, which on the face of it is good, because West Ham will stay below us and lose one of their games in hand, but that means Blackpool are 3 points closer to us. farawaysaint Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Fecking hell the table is scary O.o Been a while since I took a gander and it is stupidly close. Could the season end now? Pretty please?
Stepgar Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 but it wouldn't at this point in time, Blackpool are 7 pts back with just the one game in hand.Even if they beat West Ham they'd still be 4 points adrift. They also have to play Reading and Hull not to mention Brighton. Yep. This is pools game in hand. Pool to win. Please
Appy Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 West Ham dont win in midweek!! Didn't they beat Watford away this season?
Avenue Saint Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Barnsley & Millwall win Blackpool/WHU draw please This.
Dr Who? Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Anybody else agree that a West Ham win isn't a bad result? Really need us and another to start opening a gap, so a West Ham win would be good on this front, as it cuts Blackpool off from the pack a bit, and stops them all grouping up.
Dr Who? Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Can I decide at the end of the season who I want to win these games?
DG Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Barnsley & Millwall win Blackpool/WHU draw please I've put some money on, so that won't happen (sorry).
Dr Who? Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Boro doing their normal cannot get the ball in the net routine!
S-Clarke Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 lol @ MLT. so committed. ''Who have taken the lead, Matt?'' ''I'm afraid it's Birmingham''
S-Clarke Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 So... Boro lead away @ Millwall and Brum lead away @ Barnsley as it stands.
Chez Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Decent player Craig Davies. Thought he offered decent pace and power in the air when we played them at their place. He's started scoring again now too after bagging shed loads at Chessy.
Jimmy_D Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 'Tis difficult hoping for a draw... at least all the time it stays 0-0 you're hoping it stays boring...
trousers Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 Blackpool go close. Been all West Ham up to that point
Kingsland Red Posted 21 February, 2012 Posted 21 February, 2012 To coin a phrase from a former chairman, I think these clubs are rearranging the deckchairs.
