Japanese interest in the Championship

From watching him play! fair enough everyone needs time to settle in so I wasnt expecting a hat trick on his debut! however I wasnt expecting him to run around like a headless chicken either!

When you consider we could have tried to sign Sam Vokes or Harry kane (on loan) I think it was pointless spending money on a player who had no experience of English football.

Ive nothing against Lee and wish him well but I just dont think he's up to the job.

I thought we got him on a free?

To be honest it's pretty obvious that Nigel doesn't share your views on Lee you only have to listen to his interviews to know he rates him. Did you see Nigel celebrate Lee's goal against Derby? I don't think I've every seen Nigel that excited before. I think he is very much in NA's plans but it takes time to settle at a new club in a new country hence why he hasn't been thrown straight in as a starter.

I

And what money would that be then?

Anyway I rather see Lee with his ingenuity and effort in our team just now than the fat boy from Sheffield. At least Chun Son has scored a goal and doesn't need to claim an OG that he didn't even touch , don't even get me started on the gift he missed at

West Ham now that could cost us automatic promotion..

you don't like billy sharp do you

It's not a case of liking or not liking, as yet I've seen nothing from him that makes him any better than Guly or Lee.

At least they both look as if they've got a professional attitude towards their own personal physical condition.

I don't think Sharp was a particulary amazing buy though.

Another penalty king isn't he? Take away the spot kicks and what's left, less than Guly and Lallana I'd wager, god knows how many other OGs he's claimed. We'll just have to wait and see but if he gets into the starting line up in front of Guly and Lee then I'll want to see some results.

I remember when you started getting a tad hysterical about this time last year....it was about adkins then and writing him off...

lets just wait and see eh....no doubt his fee would have been at most, half up front and some on promotion etc...if he even scores 1 winning goal that helps us up...that will do me

I think you'll find that my criticism of Adkins concerned his continual use of the totally useless Dickson. Looks like he's corrected that then.

dickson played right till the end of last season...and we still went up...despite you getting a bit OTT...

lets just wait for a few games before seeing if sharp is a fat **** and crap..or if lee is not going to go the same way as all the other japanese/far east signings in this country

Was never running around like a headless chicken, he was actually making some very decent runs and getting into great positions, also taking defenders with him. His skills are also very good, I really like his clever use of his chest not just to control the ball but turning the ball into a space for a team-mate to latch onto (I've seen him do this at least 3 times now, its a very deliberate play by him and team mates are beginning to read this and understand what he is doing). Maybe Lee is not the next Messi (thats Lallana) but once he gets used to the increased physicality in the NPC he will be just fine, there is no way Saints have brought him in to get rid when we get promoted, Lee is long-term and he will be OK in the Prem League based on my view of his play so far. Think he is actually more likely to succeed in the Prem than Sharpe.

Oh come on, its not difficult to see that Billy is overweight. But that can be worked on, he is clearly not fully fit, but Crosby will resolve that I am sure, but don't try and deny is he a little fat boy at the moment.

Nigel said he's not Saints fit and plenty have said he looks overweight.

Well the same was said about Ricky Lambert when he first arrived, it took a while for our nutritionalists and coaches to get them Saints fit to NA standards, which we all know is a high standard.

show us.....it is just an easy opinion...

love the way you say lee will be fine in the prem...why will he..?

a few flicks in the NPC will not be enough....I hope he will be fine.

not many..if at all what so ever, far east players succeed in england, let alone the premier league

Why do I need to show you? Do you want me to bring Billy round to your house so that you can feel his love handles or something? Try looking at him when he is on the pitch. Its blindingly obvious. Anyway like I said, not being too critical of him, he's been through a lot recently, has been coached at a poor club and Crosby will get that put right I am sure. Its a bit like some of our players were when Burley was in charge, unfit and overweight.

As for Lee, its my opinion, based on watching him play, and seeing what he can do that he will be fine in the Premiership (where he will probably get more time and space). I guess you are expecting him to be as good as Rooney or something. I'm certainly not. But will he be as good as players at 60% of the Prem League clubs, yes he will I believe, because outside of the top 6 clubs and except for a handful at each other club the standard in the PL is really not much different to the top 6 of the NPC. We'll see, the game is about opinions and my opinion is basically along the same lines as our manager who clearly thinks he is a great prospect for the Premier League. Whereas you think he won't be any good and will be sold on. Would seem very odd if NA sells him after waxing lyrical.

no I don't...just pointing out that many clubs in the prem have bought better players than lee and they have never made it.....hopefully, we will break that duck
