Time to get a decent result at one of our bogey grounds.

Davis

Richardson Fonte Hooiveld Fox

Puncheon Cork Schneiderlin Lallana

Lambert Sharp.

Would be a massive win, especially with West Ham at Blackpool and Cardiff in the coming weeks.

I think Adkins has set his stall out for a point away from home and 3 points all home games.

I see this being a draw with the team bringing on Hammond with 10 to go to tighten things up again.

I don't think so, if you're comparing Watford away to Birmingham or West Ham, then you shouldn't, points there are good, at places like Watford 3 points are needed.

Anyone remember us losing there in about 83, 7-1 in the league cup, one of the 3 times I have seen 7 put past us, hopefully on Saturday we can reverse that score.

And the other two times? I sincerely hope you go to every match, otherwise, please stay away!

We cannot afford passengers such as Sharp and Chaplow against Watford. If they are not fully fit, don't start them. We should have more than enough good players to pick from to get this job done.

Chaplow a passenger!!!!!!???!!!!!! he took a hefty challenge first half on Saturday, checked everything was in order as he got up realised that it was all ok and started playing like the Jack Russell on speed that we have come to love from him.

Give Lee another good run out, not only does he have a good touch but he is a quick tenacious player who will have defenders worried all the time he is on the pitch.

Important games, imagine it is one of the away games Adkins is targeting 3 points from.

------------------------Davis-------------------

Richardson-----Fonte------Hooiveld-------Fox

Chaplow-----Schneiderlin-------Cork-----Lallana

--------------Lee-----------Lambert

Subs: Martin, Harding, Puncheon, Hammond, Sharp

Assuming Hoovield and Richardson are fit.

these family tickets are ridiculous, just put them all on sale, with fair adult and child prices, clearly there isn't demand of 1 adult 1 child restricted tickets, most people who take kids either go with additional adults or additional kids, rather than just a pair

Whilst a point away and 3 at home should do it this really is the kind of game that we should be looking at 3 points if we are to get top 2.

Merely aiming for a point in away games puts huge pressure on our home form so when we can get 3 we need to go for it.

I think we'll need 26 points for an auto place so a win at Watford will reduce the target down to 23 from 13 games with 6 at home. Very doable IMO.

FRAZER-----FONTE-----HOOIVELD-----FOX

CHAPLOW----CORK-----MORGAN---LALLANA

----------LAMBERT-----SHARP------------

Subs: Martin, Hammond, Puncheon, De Ridder, Lee

I would rest Guly for this so he can recuperate properly from his illness and Steve needs a game anyway so he can try and win back his place in the side. Sharp to start as well because he needs that goal to get his confidence up and get him firing - dropping him to the bench ain't going to help. If he's not on it by 60 minutes we can put Lee on, because at that point Watford's defence will be tired and Lee will be able to exploit that.

Chaplow was better this game, some good periods but still flagging at times and not up to his usual standards. I am not saying don't play them, but don't start them unless fully fit. If you start more than a couple of players that are not fully fit you have a fair chance of being left with them on the pitch if changes are vital eleswhere. Bring them on in the second half and you have no such issues. I don't know which players to select for this game because of many factors, but no way would I start Sharp and Chaplow unless I was certain they could go the distance after their last two games. It's one thing picking that team to start against Derby at home, another away to Watford.

Just look back at Saturdays game and why were Sharp and Chaplow substituted early? Then throw in a forced substitution and you don't have the numbers to alter the game with a couple of substitutions elsewhere. This could have been an issue against Derby, but at home and given their away form it's not difficult to see Adkins logic. After watching Watford against Leicester, I doubt Adkins will take that risk again.

Lee's earned his place with THAT goal, but I must say it doesn't always pan out like that, and I can see Adkins even keeping faith with Sharp, or putting Connolly or Guly in. I hope not, as I really want Lee to settle here and come good.

Our right wing has gone from suspect to fantastic in a matter of a month. Guly will most likely be utilised there rather than up front now we have Lee and Sharp, Puncheon needs to be kept happy, De Ridder has a contribution to make and Chaplow keeps playing himself into contention too. With Lallana undroppable, it's not like they can even switch to start on the left! Something's gotta give, but what a pleasant headache for Adkins.
