Professor Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 What a goal by Chun today!!! Have just seen it on the FL Show. International quality without a doubt. Can see Billy Sharp struggling to get the shirt off him because surely Nigel will have to give Chun a start next week after that, even if it does hurt Billy's confidence to be dropped to the bench.
waggy Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 This is amazing. .... the blog, the goal he scored today or the fact that he buys his pickled onions and heinz ketchup from tescos?
Colinjb Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 .... the blog, the goal he scored today or the fact that he buys his pickled onions and heinz ketchup from tescos? Whichever way you look at it, f**king stunning!
toofarnorth Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 I'm sure they are olives not pickled onions
swannymere Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 I think the pickled onions are in fact olives.
Crazy Diamond Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 Ever since Lee signed for Saints, there have been about five to ten Japanese journalists waiting for something like this. Last week he got what, two minutes on the pitch? Nigel very kindly spoke to them after the main interviews were done post-Burnley, and the questions were like "Do you know he's part Korean" or "How is his English?". They had nothing else to ask since he barely played. Today, he got 45 minutes and scored an absolute belter. There was only one journalist from Japan, as they assumed he wouldn't be playing today! Have to feel sorry for them really, but the one journo that did make it, she was pretty happy!
S-Clarke Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 It's the first time in a long time that we've had a player who attracts so much international attention.
Doctoroncall Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 Lots of interesting pics, but Im pretty shocked he buys pickled onions and Heinz ketchup from Tescos.... I'm more worried about the amount of red bull and red meat he's buying!
Fan The Flames Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 I think the pickled onions are in fact olives. I can confirm that they are olives.

His name is Chung, not Chun. Not difficult. Edited 19 February, 2012 by VectisSaint
Black Sea Saint Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 .... the blog, the goal he scored today or the fact that he buys his pickled onions and heinz ketchup from tescos? The blog. Although the goal sounded pretty special too.
Badger Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 I would have thought he could afford to shop at Waitrose rather than Tesco.
Toomer Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 (edited) Chung could be our ace in the pack for the remainder of the season as the other clubs will not know much about him. Yesterday we saw he has a good football brain with his movement and he chased a closed down Derby defenders when they had the ball, and the way he took his goal was something else. When he came on for his cameo against Burnley he showed what a great leap he has when he won the ball in air when he had no right to. Edited 19 February, 2012 by Toomer
RonManager Posted 19 February, 2012 Author Posted 19 February, 2012 Any chance we could get his name right? His name is Chung, not Chun. Not difficult. Chun spelling taken from his own websites and twitter account. Nickname - Chunson (same source).
suewhistle Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 The club could have a nice little revenue stream from all the Japanese fans paying for Saintsplayer to watch the videos. Perhaps he should mention it on his blog! I'm personally looking forward to the "From all angles " from the Derby game.
Macey_J2 Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 Downloading 'fox lingo' translator for firefox as we speak...!

Shalmaneser Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 I especially like that he's being sponsored by Bandai in the programme - most of the other players get local taxi firms and so on, this guy gets a major international media conglomerate. It kind of brings home how big of a deal he is out there.
Hockey_saint Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 Bandai have been sponsoring saints players for years, I think at one point they sponsored Le Tissier, Flowers, Grobbelaar, Shearer....oh yeah, I see it now
scotty Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 I thought he was terrific yesterday, not only the goal, (which was top drawer,) but his running off the ball. First time I've seen him properly and was well impressed. Particularly liked the way he drifted back out into space before he scored, he'd taken up a great position to receive a pass that got blocked but was back and ready for the follow up pass before thumping the bastard in. Well worked, well taken and well deserved first goal.
latter day saint Posted 19 February, 2012 Posted 19 February, 2012 I would have thought he could afford to shop at Waitrose rather than Tesco. oi,whats wrong with Tesco ! looks like Bursledon to me.we have to keep an eye out for him in future
