JHsaintsfan Posted 18 February, 2012 Posted 18 February, 2012 Great result for the boys Anyone go to the game?
Monk Posted 18 February, 2012 Posted 18 February, 2012 Yep, was at work so watched it out the window. Saints battered Chelsea, I had to stay very quiet!

latter day saint Posted 18 February, 2012 Posted 18 February, 2012 this is the icing on the cake today for me! my annoying ***t of a manager work is a Chelsea fan & i'm going to enjoy rubbing this in on Monday i'm sure its not the 1st time we've given them a tonking in the past few seasons ?
Dark Munster Posted 18 February, 2012 Posted 18 February, 2012 Trouble is, now they'll want to buy half our U-18 team.
Monk Posted 18 February, 2012 Posted 18 February, 2012 Trouble is, now they'll want to buy half our U-18 team. I can assure you, they don't.
Lazlo78 Posted 18 February, 2012 Posted 18 February, 2012 I wonder if they have a song for their player called "Nortei Nortey"
Minty Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 One of our lads got a nasty injury during the game, Fraser Colmer... tweeted this about it last night: "Got injured in yesterdays match against chelsea. Tendon ripped part of my bone off in my knee and had op last night." Ouch!
stevegrant Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 "Got injured in yesterdays match against chelsea. Tendon ripped part of my bone off in my knee and had op last night."
The9 Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 What, so his tendon is stronger than his bone ? Christ. Erm, on the bright side, bones are easier to fix than tendons.
Saint-scooby Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 Trouble is, now they'll want to buy half our U-18 team. Maybe in a few years time ?
once_bitterne Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 Yep, was at work so watched it out the window. Saints battered Chelsea, I had to stay very quiet! What do you do for a job?
Junior Mullet Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 Chelsea bought that lad from Sheff Utd (from memory?) who did so well against us in the cup but he doesnt seem to have played for them yet. A lot of changes to the Chelsea team for this game but it would still have been a storng team. I wonder if our lads wound theirs up with chants of "you'll never play for your first team". I would have.
The9 Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 Little aside to this, the last player Chelsea saw break into the first team regularly from their Academy was John Terry, and he doesn't look like THIS any more :

I would have. Nottingham Forest - Bamford - £1.5m fee
stevegrant Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 Chelsea bought that lad from Sheff Utd (from memory?) who did so well against us in the cup but he doesnt seem to have played for them yet. Patrick Bamford, from Forest.
Junior Mullet Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 Ah, Bamford, yup that's the one. The9 - did Sturridge not play in their youth team? I know they pinched him from City when he was still quite young.

I know they pinched him from City when he was still quite young. Even if he did, he played for Man City's first team in the Premier League in 2007 and signed for Chelsea in 2009 ! That would be like Arsenal claiming Oxlade-Chamberlain as one of theirs, or us making out we developed Jack Stephens when he'd already played in 5 League One games for Plymouth when we signed him.
Monk Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 What do you do for a job? I work/coach for their Foundation, our office over looks the reserve/academy pitch.
wild-saint Posted 20 February, 2012 Posted 20 February, 2012 I work/coach for their Foundation, our office over looks the reserve/academy pitch. i was expecting you to say you sell hotdogs and coffess at chelsea reserve training ground.
Lets B Avenue Posted 23 February, 2012 Posted 23 February, 2012 I see Chelski won 4-3 at Forest in the next round of the Youth Cup. It was a shrewd move to sign Bamford before the match, so as he couldnt play against them.
