Do you miss the concourse being open after the home games?

Sometimes I go mental after home matches and feel like having a beer; not an evening of several beers, a few chasers and a couple of ill advised lap dances, but just a single, solitary beer. Last season I could wander round to the Itchen concourse, get three beers for £6 (split with two equally tight mates), watch some of the late kick-off game on Sky, listen to a God-awful band with a slightly overweight, ugly blond girl trying to sing and then watch a slightly awkward interview with the man of the match. This season I have to set foot in the 'Alfred' *shudder*.

I miss the concourse being open. Do you?

I asked Nicola about this and he didn't seem to know that it had even stopped. He said that's not something he gets involved with but said the problem was the license doesn't allow them to serve alcohol until an hour after the match has finished almost people don't hang around... I'm sure beer was available straight away when it was being trialled though...

Probably did it, and got pulled up on it, then realised it was not worth waiting an hour.

Did it used to be open after? Probably not enough people using them after the game, so not good business.

I think it was an open for an hour after FT, a couple of the players used to go down and do interviews in the concourse too.

but you're probably right, most people would have left by the time it could get going.

Was a decent idea to be fair & showed a bit of original commercial thought. What they need to sort out is being able to get a beer & pie at half time in the Northam, lot of potential money missed there. And on a slightly separate point, can they sort out the queues to get into the Northam before games!

The bar code scanners will sort that out mate.
