21000 sold tomorrow

ah, common sense....is it not also common sense to see people are a bit skint these days and pick and choose their games more wisely..?

I can't afford to go tomorrow and I am never in that boat

But if your season ticket had been £450 and you've been able to pay it at £50 a month from June then most people would be able to. I thought you were loaded anyway Jamie.

I am loaded (not)...but after xmas and all that, can't afford this one mate....petrol is just too expensive to justify £120 round trip (including ticket)

oh well, I'm sure we will have a decent crowd..probably more than 21k and no one will actually care

Yep, which is why a great deal on a season ticket which you'd have paid off by now would have benefited you as much as anyone. Or maybe we should rely on people paying more on the day when times are tough and the weathers a bit sh*t.

you make out we are struggling for numbers..when in actual fact, we are not really are we...

maybe in terms of full house/close to sell out...but that happens very little in the prem these days let alone the 2nd league

Blew my money on the West Ham away game so i won't be there tomorrow.

^This.

Plus those James Blunt tickets cost an arm and a leg. Not to mention Spamalot at the Victoria Theatre in Woking last weekend.

Woe is me for having a social life that is less dull than going to watch football every other week....

well then they need to drop the prices for about 1 game in 3 or 4 especially after 4000 odd fans have blown hundreds by going to West Ham and a couple of K have signed on for Watford as well.

So are you suggesting the club have got the ticket policy wrong?

No not insomuch but a special offer from time to time is probably what it needs.I know they did something on the lines of £15 for those having purchased tickets for previous games a while back but a £10 all round wouldn't go amiss just now. Guess the ST holders would be moaning again though.

Damn, damn and thrice damn. I've been outwitted on an interweb footie forum.

Yet more woe is bestowed upon my very being.

How I will ever recover from such abject humiliation is difficult to tell.

the ticket office will prioritise pompey tickets to season ticket holders, members & people on database who've attended recent matches (and then pair them up with another game or two) which will sell them out before the 1 gamers get in .

Very poor, should be 25,000 at least.

I guess all the one gamers will come back in time for the Pompey game though.

dont forget this game was originally set for a tuesday, only rearranged once we lost to millwall in cup. so it hasnt been a saturday fixture for very long.

I think there will be a few that will walk up on saturday.

24k would be my guess which actually is not that bad. football attendances are down overall and 24k for 2nd tier is not terrible and would be more than a lot of the bottom half teams in prem get.

Surely this should only encourage attendance? We've already been told mid week games are tough to get to for the large amounts of our fan base that dont live in Southampton.

bet there will not be many games tomorrow with bigger attendances than ours, overall our figures are good compared to national levels.

football is a bl*ody dear hobby these days, I am glad my 2 lads are grown up and pay for their own season tickets

The voice of reason...I have my ticket...how Uber am I?

It has always been down for the Saturday. Agreed, should hopefully get 24k, not too bad.

I love my team and will beg borrow and steal to watch them. That's why I deserve away tickets over mongs who choose to line whu pockets rather than saints. Fans who live local who choose to go away rather than home are idiots.

I dont think you get it mate. Your setiments are great but you can say all this and not bother going to games. Dont forget the recession is on, the weather might be a bit sh*t, the opposition aren't that attractive, it's only a normal game, something about midweek games being difficult to get to, two games in a week, got mouths to feed, went to an away game in the last month etc etc...

As a season ticket holder I chose to pay up front. If the club are struggling to sell tickets then they should drop the price in line with demand.

I will not moan about it because I made the decision to pay for my seat for the season. It would be a bit like me moaning that I paid twice as much for a holiday than someone else that waited to the last minute to buy. Well I wanted that specific holiday and I have it, they gambled that they got it cheaper, the agents had spare slots left so sold them cheaper. That is the way the world works now.......drop the prices and fill the place....fact.

Can't see why it's "very poor".

I've just checked our home league attendances and, if you ignore the prestige games (local derbies or against big boys West Ham etc) and the ever popular Christmas games, all attendances are between 21k and 24K really.

What are people realistically expecting us to achieve for a game against Derby on a Saturday in February?

Its not that suprising. Football is very expensive for people today and there is less money for people to spend on it, prices aren't getting any cheaper. Yes we should hope to have a bigger crowd tomorrow but we're not the only club.

A few seasons ago for one of the games, Schalke fans boycotted a game because prices went from around £15 to £22-£30. Seems strong but the message was put across and the original prices remained.

It's very poor because this is the forum that told us we can EASILY fill a 45k stadium. This is the forum that claim this saints side is the best ever and playing the best football they'be ever seen. This is the forum that shouts down anyone who says anything that even suggests all isnt rosy. This is the forum that bangs on and on and on and on about potential, how we are in a great position, something about new financial rules meaning we can soar above historically bigger clubs and claim our rightful place in the champions league. Yet attendances for tomorrows game when we could go top don't seem to bear this out do they.

We're on a par with Everton though [sic]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blimey, there are some Premier League teams that would be delighted to have sold 20 odd thousand before the day of the game. Will be 24/25k there tomorrow like most weeks.

So we should base our progress and fan base on what Wigan, Fulham and QPR do should we? I'm sure the Bill Kenwright at Everton is overjoyed that although their crowds are down this season they're still Doing better than Wigan.

With our catchment area we should be getting 200k. Where the f*ck are all these mugs in Wales and Cornwall off to this weekend?!!

LOL

Did I really imagine Stu morphing in to Matt Le God???

Almost as bad as your breakdown on here (before you teamed up with Dune and made a comeback)

No you didn't, we are as big as Everton and Villa FFS.

Not quite a breakdown our failed FOTB. More a calculated LOLathon and came back because this forum needs me! I'm doing you all a favour. Look at the threads today, best one and best debates are the ones I've been involved in. * cue a mong board, wish you'd f*ck off you troll etc etc response*

To be fair to Stu he wasn't that much of a dinlo to rank us up there with Villa, he only said we were the same as Everton.

And sorry but your exiled rants on the UI were no different to Stu's drama queen retirements only to be reneged on as you can't help but post on here.

You may think this place can't exist without you, but history has shown it still rolls on when individuals (good, bad & ugly) slope off elsewhere. It's you that can't resist it LOL!!!!!!!
