Thedelldays Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 anyone going this year....have to say, bruce spreigntien headlining the sunday night is not appealing at all
Dog Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Bruce Springsteen sang."You can't start a fire without a spark." The man obviously never played with a magnifying glass in the sun as a child,
oldskoolsi Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 I'm absloutely gutted I can't go. Three of my all time fav bands headlining. I could see why others would be put off through as I think they are very similar in that they are all huge hard rock American bands who sing about similar themes and have the same political outlook.
RonManager Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Bruce Springsteen sang."You can't start a fire without a spark." The man obviously never played with a magnifying glass in the sun as a child, Indeed so. I actually pulled him up about that a while back and he assured me that he would re-write the line. We shall see. I also once asked Elvis Costello as to why he was not prepared to go to Chelsea. He mumbled something unintelligable in his beard and ran off as fast as his little legs would carry him.
Scummer Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 anyone going this year....have to say, bruce spreigntien headlining the sunday night is not appealing at all I'd probably have gone but the headliners put me right off. Any one of them on their own would have been fine but as oldskoolsi says it's very samey. Should have mixed it up a bit more.
Frank's cousin Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Indeed so. I actually pulled him up about that a while back and he assured me that he would re-write the line. We shall see. I also once asked Elvis Costello as to why he was not prepared to go to Chelsea. He mumbled something unintelligable in his beard and ran off as fast as his little legs would carry him. We all have em... I can remeber a while back when someone asked Kylie if she fancied a night of rigourous animalistic sex with Frank's cousin, to which she replied 'I should be so lucky'
Spudders Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 I'm going. Not been before but thought I'd give it a try as no glasto this year. Got a couple weeks off work so doing Le Mans the weekend before, then IOW. The headliners on each day are gash in my opinion, but on the Friday I'll go to the big top instead for Groove Amarda. Saturday I'll go to the Garden stage for the Charlatans, sunday I guess The Darkness is the best option for the final act, but by that point on the Sunday I'll be a tired little puppy so am not too bothered.
bridge too far Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 My daughter will performing at a festival on the Island, but in August. Can't remember what it's called. She'll be 8 months pregnant, so that should be a laugh!
SuperMikey Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Think i'll probably end up going to Bestival instead, but I have to say the IOW line-up does look very good this year. Saw Bruce Springsteen at Glasto in 09 and he was incredible.
Dr Who? Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Not liking the line up and have not got the money. Waiting on V Fest, but might do download on the Saturday.
