Reading's visit to St. Mary's has been brought forward for live television coverage.

The game originally scheduled for Saturday 14th April will now take place on Friday 13th April kick-off 7.45pm live on Sky Sports.

I'm getting a bit fed up with this. How many Saturday 3pm kick-offs have we had this season? I s'pose it's a measure of our success, which can't be a bad thing, but I love going to games at 3pm on a Saturday.

I do agree, but if they have to be moved either Friday or Saturday evenings aren't too bad at all. Knock off work a bit early, works well for a few beers and a bit of atmosphere and frees up the rest of the weekend. Club earn a few quid out of it. Could be worse. Edited by Sour Mash

FFS, was going to go to this but how will I finish work at half five and get down from Manchester in time for kick off now?

Flybe have a 1700 departure from Manchester, gets in to Southampton at 1800...

Tweak your work hours a bit and it's possible.

Haha my Reading mate at work is not happy!!! They have already had their easter Monday game moved to Tuesday night away at Brighton and now have saints away on the Friday night of the same week!! 2 midweek away games in a week is a bit harsh, especially when they are what Reading would consider good , local days out on the beer.

Tuesday 10th Brighton v Reading

Friday 13th Saints v Reading

On the other hand we have Palace away on the Monday 9th so have an extra days preparation.

I notice Reading v Leeds has been moved as well to good Friday for tv, so assume our game v Skates is staying on the Saturday for now?

going to be some week, bet the OB are looking forward to it.

Skates on the 7th

Reading on the 13th

Skates on the 7th

Palace away on the 9th.

A weekend on the p*ss for Saints fans and Palace away has got a bit tasty the last couple of times I've been.

Going to be a good weekend.

Less than happy about the Reading game being moved, nothing beats a Saturday 3pm.

I'm surprised no one has picked up on this - Sky have chosen to broadcast a game AFTER the Skates home match. So are they not televising it? I'd be surprised if it wasn't a featured game on the Football League Show at the very least, but not televising it at all? Hmm.

Perhaps on the BBC again?

Can't blame them after the borefest both sides served up at Fratton.

After how sh1te the last match was the TV companies are probably giving it a swerve.

I hate SKY!!!!! really making me think about renewing my season tickets next year.

Agreed. Don't have a season ticket but was given Final 10 tickets (for me and daughter), Friday evening is a fecking nightmare, another half day off work. Also screws up daughter's birthday, she was looking forward to going to the footy on her birthday, then out for dinner afterwards.

nothing about saints v pompey there

that's because it has not been moved for tv. it was brought forward to a 1pm kick off on the saturday on police advice which is where it has stayed, i heard the game would not be moved to the sunday and Palace away being on the monday still confirms that, which left possibilities of saturday lunchtime or good friday spots, looks like the tv companies going to give it a miss. once again though it won't be a saturday 3pm.

this season we had no saturday 3pm HOME games from 18th November - 11th Feb, now will also not have them in April

They wouldn't do the same fixture twice given how little games they broadcast. Fairly sure on that one.

Doesn't matter. One of the biggest games in the Championship calendar, surely, when they'll be fighting relegation and we'll be trying to get promoted. You don't decide not to show Spurs v Arsenal because the last game wasn't great and ended 1 - 1. I'm not saying it's on a par with a Premier League derby, but in terms of a Football League fixture that attracts interest and has such importance? I'd be baffled if it wasn't shown.

Sky were never going to show the Saints and Pompey game as Arsenal vs Man City and SPL final day fall on the same day.

Can't see the BBC showing it either. May be some streams abroad though as I would expect it to be the main game on The Football League show.

Aha, mystery solved. Good work Saints foreva. Unless one is moved of course, but you've probably hit on the reason it won't be shown.

It'll have to be the featured game on the Football League Show then.

And our record wasn't great in those games !! Let's hope we're better in April

I'm glad it's not as it will guarantee a sell out. Would of been touch and go had it been on tele.

Apparently all police leave across the south of England has been cancelled for when Reading come to town.

So that the police can laugh at their "we are so gutted we are not a big club, its not fair, we are here in our numbers and all the family brought their scarves, blah blah snooze" attitude as well? Seems odd, but whatever
