LaptopSaint Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Huddersfield sacking Lee Clark. After 3 defeats in 55 matches. Absolutely f@cking mental. Developed a bit of a soft spot for the Town after our epic battle with them to finish second last season, and was a bit gutted when they didn't make it through the play-offs. Proper football club, and I wonder what their fans make of this?
Supersubpuckett Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 gobsmacked - there must be more to it..... maybe they've lined up that genius mccarthy
the saint in winchester Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Absolutely bizarre - if they were 17th you could understand the reasoning. But what are they - 4th? The Chairman is clearly thinking top 2 or 3rd at best. An unfair dismissal, unless there is something we don't know about. He'll have to serve gardening leave while that goes through, but after that someone is going to get a very good manager.
red&white56 Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 He must be very disappointed. I don't think that's fair for what's he delivered.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 They'll now get Grayson and Leeds will get Clark! I know who got the bet deal......
ThreeSixty Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Had a look at the Huddersfield forum and they support the decision. Off to leeds i'd expect. Though if i was wolves i'd look at him.

rooney Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Very similar to the Pardew sacking with us. Probably been negotiating with Leeds behind the chairmans back.
LeBenali Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 I was speaking to some 'Uddersfield fans before todays events, and they really weren't too impressed with Clark as a manager. Apparantly their game plan doesn't stretch further than lumping it to Rhodes and hoping for the best. Still, I don't think any fans could really complain if their team have lost just 5% of their last 55 games...
trousers Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Very similar to the Pardew sacking with us. Probably been negotiating with Leeds behind the chairmans back. Was thinking along similar lines. It bears all the hallmarks of the chairman discovering something going on behind his back...
CB Fry Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Does seem odd on the surface, but clearly their chairman is sick of being in the play offs and being nearly men. Udders have had enough resources, and in the "we must give these managers time, Alan" world, Clarke's had plenty of time to build an automatic promotion winning team, which you have to conclude was his brief. Therefore [the chairman thinks] they should be first or second, not third or fourth. Maybe he's got Warnock, or McCarthy or Dave Jones or Grayson lined up and maybe they can drag them over the line into the top two. Or maybe not. But I can see the chairman's logic. Either that, or there is something going on with Leeds, or just general working relationship breakdown.

Thedelldays Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 to be fair..they are big spenders in that league and alway in the playoffs.........and still not looking like being top 2 under him
captainchris Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Very similar to the Pardew sacking with us. Probably been negotiating with Leeds behind the chairmans back. NOT SIMILAR IN ANY WAY. We were third from bottom at the time or somewhere near that - going nowhere and playing hoofball. There is not shread of similarity! CFSFC Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 In all fairness he's delivered nothing. They draw to many and season before after a lot of spending only finished 6th because one team had minus 10. Seems a fair one to me.

It's all well and good quoting the 3 losses in 55 games stat, but at the end of the day it's the points that matter - and Clark hasn't accumulated enough with Huddersfield given his spend.
