Paul Chuckle Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 Tonight Meridian tonight hit an all time low. We played a top of the table Championship game last night and they show all of 10 seconds if that highlights of the goals. But yet they dedicate a few minutes to 200 Skates protecting in the stadium after game and show a couple of interviews from their manager and Ward. I don't usually rant but what a joke!!!
Thedelldays Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 with all due respect.....them going into admin (regardless of how many times) is a big deal and would/is getting more national attention
Tamesaint Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 with all due respect.....them going into admin (regardless of how many times) is a big deal and would/is getting more national attention Rangers administration is getting much more attention than Pompey's. Pompey's adminstration is little more than a footnote to Rangers's.
Thedelldays Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 Rangers administration is getting much more attention than Pompey's. Pompey's adminstration is little more than a footnote to Rangers's. still bigger than a normal football league fixture....
kpturner Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 For Hampshire football, Pompey admin is a bigger story than a 1-1 draw between saints and west ham
battlingbob Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 the blue few get more funny by the minute all the match reports were saying how amazing they were getting behind there team what they forgot to mention was there was 18000 empty seats were never die they were singing somehow i think you will lol
The Kraken Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 the blue few get more funny by the minute all the match reports were saying how amazing they were getting behind there team what they forgot to mention was there was 18000 empty seats were never die they were singing somehow i think you will lol They only had a crowd of 2000? Wow, that is poor support.
Paul Chuckle Posted 15 February, 2012 Author Posted 15 February, 2012 BBC South Today led the sport with our match and showed key incidents of the game
georgeg Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 with all due respect.....them going into admin (regardless of how many times) is a big deal and would/is getting more national attention yes dell days but they are already doing extra reports on them and indeed intend to do another on friday .. but the "sports report" tonight was nothing short of an embarrassing joke .. the actual biggest club in this region (by a mile) playing the team currently top and how many seconds did we get? .. against the blue few "packing the park" .. yeah .. of course they did .. prolong the myth why don't you meridiskate
Appy Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 Rangers administration is getting much more attention than Pompey's. Pompey's adminstration is little more than a footnote to Rangers's. I can't see meridian doing a feature on Rangers.
Fan The Flames Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 For Hampshire football, Pompey admin is a bigger story than a 1-1 draw between saints and west ham I don't think North West TV what ever it is called would run a story of Bolton admins before Man U's trip to Chelsea (all hypothetical I know).
gjphilsaint Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 having been away from the homestead for some time...I remember SouthernTV and TVS doing a great job. It is possible to watch Meridian on ITV HD if i can be bothered , but allI get is Fred Skate -age turning more and more orange...in glorious HD no less.... Meridian seems a poor relative to previous independent south coast broadcasters.
CB Fry Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 I don't think North West TV what ever it is called would run a story of Bolton admins before Man U's trip to Chelsea (all hypothetical I know). Yes they would. Local decent-sized club going into administration is lead-story news. Big club plays big match again is not news.
Turkish Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 This is a disgrace and more evidence of Meridians anti saints agenda.
The Kraken Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 So just to confirm; that's the BBC and Meridian that hate us? We need to get to the Premier League and fast, maybe MLT will help to ensure some impartiality if/when we get there. At the moment I just feel sick thinking about the shocking treatment we receive from terrestrial television.

Fan The Flames Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 Yes they would. Local decent-sized club going into administration is lead-story news. Big club plays big match again is not news. But yesterday wasn't the day Pompey applied for administration, there wasn't a court hearing or any significant development. The only thing the happen yesterday was the CE saying they will carry on, so it didn't warrent being the lead story and I reckon given the same circumstances NW TV wouldn't have run it that way round.

Breathe into a paper bag it always helps, it helped me through Tracys treatment of Becky on Corry.

The Mirror and the Mail are vile papers who are full of lies and lazy journalists who cant be trusted.

The Mirror and the Mail are vile papers who are full of lies and lazy journalists who cant be trusted. My God yes, I'd forgotten how deep the media-driven anti-Saints agenda went. Is there no media outlet with a good word to say about our sorry little club? Its no wonder the club takes such an insular approach, with all of the hate thrown at us from so many in the media.
CWD Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 The main sports guy on Meridian is a Saints season ticket holder.
lordswoodsaints Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 The Sun newspaper today admitted hacking into Michael appletons phone,And topping it up with a tenner.
Toomer Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 The main sports guy on Meridian is a Saints season ticket holder. The man that fronts the evening show is a skate.
Didcot Saint Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 Poor old Fred. Where's your Pompey gone!!!
Didcot Saint Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 The Sun newspaper today admitted hacking into Michael appletons phone,And topping it up with a tenner. Pmsl!
captainchris Posted 15 February, 2012 Posted 15 February, 2012 The 'news' of Portsmouth fans 'protesting' was laughable it didn't actually say what they were protesting about. Errrr was it about going into admin? If so who were they protesting to? Protests are normally about an injustice but this is evidently not that - they have over spent which is not an injustice it's a fact. Or, perhaps they were protesting about the removal of someone but who? Does anyone know who the owner is and if so, isn't he trying to sell and get away anyway? The manager seems ok - so what on earth is the 'sit in' all about? Bizzar........I'm at a loss - can anyone help?
sfc1971 Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Who cares if we are on the news or not ? We are off the Radar just quietly going about our buisness, with all thats going on down the road at least the media pressure is not on SFC.

Meridian seems a poor relative to previous independent south coast broadcasters. I didn't realise how 'watered down' meridian was until I noticed that in the local pub to where I am working at the mo, (Tunbridge Wells) is also in the Meridian area. How can they manage to be local, covering such a wide area?
Secret Site Agent Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 No one likes us, not even our own fans at times! I like us. And I like you Dr.
Leicestersaint Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Meridian have always been hopeless - and their predecessors. "How?"
Rational Rich Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Best way to get around that is, to do what I did and move out of the Meridian region altogether. North West Tonight don't even mention the Skates on their bulletins. To be fair, they don't mention Saints either, and you have a 450 mile round trip to home games, but at least the irritation of the Meridian bias is dealt with.
