Minty Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Unlikely to be 'yoof' if they're hiring a box. Pretty stupid thing to do to be honest.
Miltonaggro Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Probably Craig David and his crew by the sound of it (Frostie, Pinder, Vallance, Meades etc.), p*ssed up on Krug and up for a knees up. There's no place for this type of thing in the modern game...
This Charming Man Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Good stuff. Sounds like we had a few who played up a little last night. That's what you want away from home, a support with a little something about it.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Haha who started fights outside the ground then? I never saw a thing, seems like West Ham fans pay too much attention to films such as Green Street and Football Factory and think they happen every week cos they "is fking hard init, pwopa nawty"

Sour Mash Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 Fair play, seems like those Saints fans took the p**s, got to laugh at how angry it makes the Hammers. Didn't see a hint of trouble outside the ground or around the tube all night, think some of the posters on there are doing the classic ****ney act of "they were all mouth until they bumped into ME!" ha ha. It cant be true though, it didnt resemble a scene from Braveheart and no 85 year old man and heavily pregenant women running for their lives. Noodles34 Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 This seems like the lot that were in The Legends Restaurant before the game, I was in there too and you get a seat in The West Stand. Obviously saw them before the game and they were various ages but had the usual drinking yobbo look about them, but to be fair they were alright before the game. But they never came back at HT, so i guess that explains that though i never heard or saw any commotion, probably exaggerated to say the least. I was half expecting the West Ham to say that Ray Winstone had taken them out. But, I did meet Billy Mitchell and said "you're Billy Mitchell", and he said " yeah" smiling, spose he has never heard that before? I said UTS to him as well and he laughed so i cracked him over the head with a baseball bat! Nah, made the last bit up, he just smiled again. Orange Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 That thread is brilliant, coming from West Ham fans of all people I think the 'you used to play football' song has got under their skin a bit, f*cking pathetic.

Saint Garrett Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 This was some people I know I think, don't think they're partciularly 'yobbos'. By what one of my mates said to me, they pretty much got conned with a deal for a box which they thought was in the away end, but it was basically just hospitality in the home end, and obviously they weren't sat on their hands and were removed before half time. I haven't spoke to them today though so not sure of the exacts, one of them regularly posts on here, so sure he'll see this at some point.

Johnny Bognor Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 I was sat in the row behind them (obviously behaving myself). They were just youngsters who had too much to drink and didn't realise that if you mouth off in what is the home end, you won't get away with it lightly. SaintNeil90 Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 (edited) There was 18 of us in the group and a mixture of ages. A few West Ham and the rest Southampton. We were lead to believe we had hired a private box for the game (no idea whether this was miss communication but that it what the majority of us believed). When we got there we realised it was just standard hospitality. The lads had been drinking on the way up but weren't too bad, all enjoyed the meal without any problems etc We were showed to our seating which was a row behind the regular West Ham fans (never worth £80 odd each!). Obviously being 18 of us it was hard to keep it quiet that we weren't home fans with a few of the lads shouting and the odd song but nothing aimed towards the West Ham fans. A couple of their fans decided to 'have a word' which is when it all started to kick off. More and more fans started to stand up and shout abuse. Once this happened it was inevitable we were going to be escorted out. I thought the West Ham stewards/security handled the situation very badly. Considering one West Ham fan got physical and was allowed to walk back to his seat. (I would like to point out that apart from this, nothing was thrown and their was no violence, just a vocal exchange). One of the West Ham hospitality staff got onto his radio to see if he could get us into the away end but the security guard had a power trip and made sure we were escorted out. My personal opinion... if I knew it was just hospitality I wouldn't have bothered and would have got a regular ticket in the away end. Granted the lads didn't help themselves by making it known that we weren't home fans but the reaction of the West Ham lot was to cause trouble simply because we were away fans. A lesson learnt, I will certainly be sticking to regular tickets and the correct 'end' in future. ____ Having read the West Ham thread I would like to point out that nobody was 'out to cause trouble' last night. In fact the majority of the lads were having a laugh with the West Ham fans and shaking hands with them. It was only when a few West Ham fans took a disliking that it sparked a reaction. Secret Site Agent Posted 15 February, 2012 Share Posted 15 February, 2012 What a load of old tosh. I would say ******** but it wouldn't make it. I was there, as guests of my Boss and a number of collegues, a few of them Reading fans. He revels in going as not only is he a big West Ham fan, but looks like Big Sam as well. Gave us a good night out and we were sat not far from there and saw NOTHING, nada, none, nil, not a dickie bird. And that sort of think would have been noticed as my bosses son is a copper to boot, so would have reacted. Seems to me like a case of the Jakanories, the big 'i ams' and believing their own press. They do know that 'Green Street' is a film, don't they? And Danny Dyer is an actor? And it isn't real? Very sad.

That seems like a fair and honest reflection of what happened. It is difficult in the away end, i mean Billy Sharp missing from 4 yards and I'm on my feet with my head in my hands shouting "Noooooo!", but no one seemed to be making an issue with me, and when we scored i just refrained from jumping up and down etc. At the end of the day, if someone is your end and they respect that, then whats the big deal?
