beavis17 Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 On the bench for Saints this afternoon are: Hammond, Martin, Lee, Connolly and Puncheon. Guly misses out through illness. #saintsfc

CWD Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 (edited) Guly out with an illness. Clearly NA rates Punch more as an impact player a la SDR, hence starting Chaplow. Strong team on paper! Also Chaplow should give more defensively to cover Harding's frailties at right back Edited 18 February, 2012 by CWD Another thought came to me! Window Cleaner Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 no sub keeper and no Richardson, plot thickens, who's the sub keeper now then?
martyg1950 Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 Great to see Chappy back, strange decision having Harding start, lets hope we have our shooting boots on today COYS!
Thedelldays Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 Tough for Chaplow, he likes to roam everywhere but is that wise with a left back at right back? Worried about that right side. We have an experienced defence, would it be so bad to give a young player his chance at right back? Rather Cork there than Harding, it just unbalances the defence. you would rather a CM than a fullback at fullback as having a FB unsettles the defence...? Saint_Jonny Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 I would probs have Punch on the right over chappy myself.. And is Butters' still injured? I thought he was back?
Saint Garrett Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 you would rather a CM than a fullback at fullback as having a FB unsettles the defence...?Atleast Cork is right footed, and he has played a lot of games there in the past. Thedelldays Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 Atleast Cork is right footed, and he has played a lot of games there in the past. we we play right footed people on the left and right footed people on the right.... their left midfielder may well be right footed for all we know...? del boy Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 Chaplow starts...hope he's match fit. Harding at RB... Nigel must be working on the theory that the game will be played mostly in the Derby half - as it should, but still a bit worrying, time will tell. sfc4prem Posted 18 February, 2012 Share Posted 18 February, 2012 Cork and Schneiderlin starting to emerge as first choice CM pairing now... Chaplow looked extremely rusty and pretty poor against Millwall, he couldn't even run properly. Hopefully he's shaken off that rust because earlier in the season he was a good option. Expect to see Lee play about 10 minutes today. Harding at RB :/ Please don't show their winger onto their stronger foot Dan....
