Draino76 Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 I'd take a point. Merrington; who I love is talking ******.
Stepgar Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Still a point earned, gotta be happy with that
Dr Who? Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Nice point! Battered them in the second half.
Thedelldays Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 1-1 at west ham...probably the hardest away game (on paper)..happy with that...deffo a game of two halves...deffo created plenty... 4 points from both west ham and brum..... not bad at all
Saint Garrett Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Sounds like he had a superb game, lots of controversy, but happy with a point, taken 4 off them and Brum. Cannot complain, lets smash Derby.
Lazlo78 Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Two points lost or one point won? Don't know and don't care right now, it was a great game to listen to and people one here gave it their best with a 20+ pages thread... Footy is good...
Sheaf Saint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Bugger. Could and maybe should have won that given our possession and chances. But we've taken 4 points off them now and stayed within a point, and we have a good run of very winnable games coming up now so I reckon we can still overtake them.
the wedge Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Delighted with a point. Onwards and upwards.
Elias Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Good point, possibly should have done better but I'd have taken the draw early on.
S-Clarke Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 To be honest I think we're getting better and better, slowly regaining our early season form and performances. Any result here, in any circumstances, has to be taken as a massive positive - even more so when we were behind to start with. If we win against Derby we now go back top.
Jimmy_D Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 That'll do. We have the easier run in, should finish above them, and that'll be enough for promotion.
Barry the Badger Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Would've taken that before the match. At 1-0 down when they went down to 10 it's a decent result.
dubai_phil Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Phew what an emotional roller coaster Cracking game would have taken a point before the game and we got one. Hell we even scored against 10 men & we are usually rubbish! Learn some lessons draw a line
dvaughanwilliams Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Thought it would be a tight scrappy game and not at all surprised that they got a penalty at home. Would have taken a draw before the game, but could have been better given that they had 10 men for most of the game. As long as we get back to our early season home form, I think we've got a decent chance.
DJ_TOAST Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Point ok, disappointed against 10 men couldn't get more though, what if they had had 11. Can't understand why Puncheon didn't start ffs.
DG Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Should have won (no. of chances), could have lost, decent point. If we can win Saturday that'd be 7 from 9, a great return after the last few months.
obelisk Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Sounds like Saints were profligate with the chances yet again. If that problem gets sorted then promotion will be a breeze. Would have taken a point at the start but playing against 10 for most of the game it really has to be considered as 2 points lost.
buctootim Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 17 shots, 12 on target. Not sure what Merrington saw but dont see how 'more width' would better that.
Sheaf Saint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Worth mentioning that West Ham now have two first-choice players on 3-match bans as well.
Thedelldays Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 17 shots, 12 on target. Not sure what Merrington saw but dont see how 'more width' would better that. agree...we sounded poor in the 1st half but this was away to the league leaders.... also sounded like green had a corker
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 A decent point for us Roll on Derby on Saturday
CWD Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Would I have taken a point at the start of the game? Yes. Would I have taken getting 4 points off WHU at the start of the season? Definitely. Should we have got the 3 points today with a man advantage for 70mins and the chances we had? Probably. Win Saturday and it's another good week.
S-Clarke Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 agree...we sounded poor in the 1st half but this was away to the league leaders.... also sounded like green had a corker Apart from the first 30mins we were excellent IMO. Amway at a ground like this against their hostile crowd is a massive positive. I'm chuffed to bits with this result, and totally confused by anyone who isn't.
Islander Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Happy with a point. And 10 in the prediction league!
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Good point whilst treading the tightrope with the yellow cards.Well done boys!! Come on Blackpool for next Tues, beat Waste Ham.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Loving the sensible posting on here tonight
Chin Strain Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Point ok, disappointed against 10 men couldn't get more though, what if they had had 11. Can't understand why Puncheon didn't start ffs. Cos Guly was very good on Saturday I suspect
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Fantastic point, great second half performance, plenty of momentum and belief. A good evening.
SNSUN Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Hooiveld POTS material imo. Happy with a point. Right, back to business.
Cascadia Saint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Would I have taken a point at the start of the game? Yes. Would I have taken getting 4 points off WHU at the start of the season? Definitely. Should we have got the 3 points today with a man advantage for 70mins and the chances we had? Probably. Win Saturday and it's another good week. Absolutely spot on.
dune Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 I'd have taken a draw before the game and i'm happy. It's as we were and we now have Derby at SMS.
RobM Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Sounds like Green saved the game for them. I've mixed feelings... I would have taken a point before the game, it's a good point. But with a one-man advantage, with the number of attacking options we had on the pitch, with the chances we created, I can't help but think this is a game we should have won.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Take that anyway. We're getting better again!
Super_Saint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 At least thats the "tougher" run of games over. With the remaining games we have, only 5 of them are in the top half of the table.
musesaint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Decent point - happy with that Looking at the run-ins I'd rather but us than any of our main rivals We are going to win this league - FACT
Buenos Aires Saint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Good point! Back to winning ways this weekend, COYR!
Lighthouse Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 I'll take that. Shame we couldn't get a winner, but 4 points against Wham this season is a decent result. Shame no other results really went for us, although a bore draw between Brum and Hull is pretty good. Brum struggling to score at home in their last 3 games, hopefully the sting has gone from their recent form. Only 5 games remaining against teams in the top half, although they do include trips to Leeds, Boro and Hull. We can win this. Come on Saints!! P.S. My thread was better.
colehillsaint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Great point. Look good with our run in. Roll on Saturday.
MOSaint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Draw is a good result, any points against top sides away is a bonus.
Thedelldays Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 in the last week or so...gone to 1st and 3rd and drew.. can't complain really
Ohio Saint Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Very happy with 4 points of WHam. Their supporters though, what a bunch of whining twonks!! Happier to boo the opposing players than actually give support to their own team.
S-Clarke Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Take that anyway. We're getting better again! We really are. We're on a nice little unbeaten run in the league now, defense is tightening up with Jos returning and we sound lively again. No surprise that we're improving with our better players coming back.
Viking Warrior Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 I didn't listen. To saints player but Merrington sounds like a tit tonight . Surely it was west ham who dropped 2 points .
Monk Posted 14 February, 2012 Posted 14 February, 2012 Would've taken that before the match. At 1-0 down when they went down to 10 it's a decent result. this.
