Jonnyboy Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Ah! confirmed! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitney_Houston
Micky Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Real tragedy - a very talented lady who had it all, fame, fortune - but it all just seemed to go wrong - very, very sad. RIP Whitney Houston.
Cascadia Saint Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Just saw that a few minutes ago. What a waste of talent. But just like when Michael Jackson died, it feels like she died ages ago as she has done fu ck all for years now. RIP though, great voice.
Redondo Saint Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Poor lifestyle choices - what a waste.
Saint in Paradise Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Wasn't she the one who basically just shouted rather than singing?? Sad for her family I suppose.
solentstars Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 R.I.p Whitney a great singer who had a great voice and sang some great songs. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Cestrian Saint Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 That's next week's number one single and album sorted then.
niceandfriendly Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Wasn't she the one who basically just shouted rather than singing?? Er, no.
St Chalet Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 LOL

BretEastonEllis Whitney Houston: Yes, somewhere tonight Patrick Bateman is weeping, shocked but not surprised, and ordering three hookers instead of two... 12/02/2012 01:23

When I heard the news I thought of the paragraph where Bateman describes her Album, brilliantly written. Oh, Whitney what a waste of talent.
eurosaint Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Drugs ! The bane of today's society I'm afraid ! RIP Whitney.
Jonnyboy Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Patrick Bateman: Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that, Christie? Elizabeth: [laughing] You actually listen to Whitney Houston? You own a Whitney Houston CD? More than one? Patrick Bateman: It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, Elizabeth, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.

Dr Who? Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Yes my wife felt the need to bring me a tea and wake me up to tell me this! God knows why, it is ok I got back to sleep again.
CB Saint Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Ok, now fed up with Whitney songs on the radio. And the wife caterwauling along to it.

pap Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Sad for the family, obviously - but not a great loss to music, imho.
Window Cleaner Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Why do music sales rocket after a death? Do we assume people just love to listen to hits of the dead? I've never understood this one. stupid sentimentality is what it's about.Same as sending wedding presents to Elsie Tanner when she's marrying Ken Barlow.
buctootim Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Why do music sales rocket after a death? Do we assume people just love to listen to hits of the dead? I've never understood this one. Its just the publicity isnt it? Until today she was just one of hundreds of singers from the past people didnt think about too often - but when they die people hear the music again, invariably from their youth and think about themselves getting older. I remember slow dancing at my sister's wedding with Rachel H**man (identity hidden to protect the innocent) to Whitney Houston. Fond memories of a good night, Rachel's body and Whitney was a part of that. If she hadnt died I probably wouldnt have had that warm memory today.

ART Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 What God Gives, He Taketh away. R.I.P. Whitney Houston, we shall always love you. X♥ Twitter reports that Bobby Brown has been found dead, leaving a note "We both can play this game"

ART Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 If I knew who Bobby Brown was I might share the joke. Bobby Brown is famous rap singer with whom Whitney's had a traumatic on and off marriage. It was Brown who got her hooked on drugs, who is mainly responsible for the tragedy of her life. It would be fitting, not a joke if he's committed suicide as his life has been tragic since he found fame at an early age.

It would be fitting, not a joke if he's committed suicide as his life has been tragic since he found fame at an early age. He's not a rap singer. A more accurate description is a mediocre peddler of chart-friendly RnB.

ART Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Bobby Brown started out as a rapper in his teens. He's since moved on, and in my opinion lost it and sings mediocre R n B.
badgerx16 Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Apparently it's Aaron Ramsey's fault : On May 1st 2011 Aaron Ramsey scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Manchester United, the next day Osama bin Laden was killed. On October 19th, 2011 Aaron Ramsey scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Marseille, the next day Muammar Gaddafi was killed. Yesterday he scored against Sunderland.......
revolution saint Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Feel sorry for her friends, family and fans. It's a tragic loss to warbling.

To hear that BB was going on-stage and declaring his sadness at her death made me angry. As you say, he introduced the gospel-singing pure Whitney to the scene he was involved in ... and she never could get out of it. There's blood on your hands, Bobby Brown. For me, the Princess, the best singer of my generation, always my favourite from her first song to the latest album. I look to you, Whitney. Thank you for the music. xx

badgerx16 Posted 13 February, 2012 Posted 13 February, 2012 Are you saying Whitney was a terrorist and a threat to world security? Obviously Aaron Ramsey did

She had a problem a long time before she met him. The rest (as they say) is history.

Too bad Arsenal are not playing on 19 February. Ramsey could score and Pompey could die the next day. Is their FA Cup match on the 18th close enough...
