Tis about time I got to start one of these!

Let's SMASH 'EM!!!

(and thus show them how cocky they are at thinking they have the title sewn up. See this thread on KUMB: http://kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=138384)

Thought the rsponse to their end of season cruise quite amusing:

I do hope you havent booked an Italian skipper.

Is the boat going anywhere near Monaco? My dog needs me to set up a bank account

Chas please take mine from my Rosie 47 account, just about enough left in it (I think)

Please, please, PLEASE Nigel don't be scared and put cloggers like Hammond back in the team when you saw what our fully fit ATTACKING first XI can do today.

The best chance we have for keeping things tight at the back is by keeping the ball like we did today and keeping faith with our current back four. Unchanged and we could well win this.

So excited for this one. Would hope we keep the same team or close enough too it. Not sure its the right kind of game for Guly on the right though so wouldn't be too disappointed to see Punch in on the right and Guly dropping to the bench.

We can win this one - the confidence is back after today and if Billy and Rickie continue to play like they did today then we'll cause them so real problems.

Hammond isn't a clogger. He is a very important player for us as well.

Absolutely brutal on Hammond, such a good CM option and has the most overlooked passing ability of the whole squad IMO

That is guaranteed to be their downfall. They'll miss out on promotion and someone is going to have an empty party cruise ship to pay for, lol.

I'll go for a compromise and say 'let's smash them a new one'. I'd stick with the same team apart from 2 changes. Puncheon and Hammond in for Guly and Schneiderlin. Would also like to see De Ridder and Chaplow on the bench.

Agree entirely, I think that's also why Punch wasn't started yesterday. I am a fan of Guly (at RM), but suspect he is a bit too lightweight for this game and after a few swift kicks in the ankle may go missing. Similar story with Morgan, his play is more pretty and technical than the more direct Hammond, which IMO makes Hammond better suited to this game.

Really what we need is our tallest players though, given we'll just watch the ball float over the top of our midfield for every WHU attack.

Tuesday night, away, freezing and 7.45pm ko? This ain't where we do our best stuff is it. Allardyce's ugly bastards will make sure we don't get a chance to play passing football in the naive way that Burnley did and no doubt will make sure that at least a couple of our guys get clobbered, with Lallana, Lambert * Hoover being top targets.

This will be an ugly game and a draw will be a good result.

Depends on the ref really, plus they'll be without their clogger in chief.

Agree that a draw would be a good result though.

You obviously weren't at Ipswich.

I think them thinking the league is sewn up is a touch naive! looking at their fixtures, they still have to play everybody from 2nd to 16th with the exception of 13th placed Derby! we, however, do not have to play Brum(3rd), Cardiff(4th), Brighton(8th), Burnley(11th) or Leicester(12th). If West Ham do amaze me and rip through that fixture list, it will only help to strengthen our position in 2nd, but fail to do so will open the door for the title.

Very, very much all to play for me thinks!

I for one am looking forward to this tbh as it should be a Good atmosphere from both sets of fans and I haven't been to Upton Park for ages so can't wait!!!

Am going to go for a 2-2 draw with Lambert n Sharp/Schneiderlin for Saints n I for one would take a draw tbh even though a win would just be as sweet!!!

I hope Chaplow or Puncheon plays aswell for someone as I don't know who I'd keep and drop to the bench but whatever Adkins does I will get right behind him!!!

What's going on in regards to the Pubs as I'm thinking of having a Pre-Match drink before or will have one after so where will Saints fans on here be heading to or where are the best Pubs to visit West Ham fans!?!

Also I hope the Police don't be Bells aswell but we'l see!!!

Also how are people getting there as I'm going up in the day on Tuesday and will get the Train to Waterloo as I'm meeting my brother who I'm going with and we'l more than likely be going from London Bridge to West Ham on the Jubilee and then changing there for the District/H&C to Upton Park if that's right!?!

Then will be coming back home in the day on Wednesday!!!

Thanks!

COYR :D!!!

Hammond is vastly overated, we saw that on tuesday,a total zero defensively.

Zero defensively?! I believe I watch a different Hammond! Consistently tracks back and makes important tackles for me but each to their own. I can understand people seeing the future favourites at a higher level being Morgan and Cork but Hammond bashing is a little harsh IMO.

I hope we absolutely smash them. I often look at KUMB and their arrogance is unmatched. I hope we smash them so very, very convincingly.

Taking a look at a couple threads, every one of them have predicted themselves as being league winners and a vast number of them have written us off as getting promotion entirely. I think they're convinced now they're going to go up in 1st by a distance. One of them has even predicted Leeds in 2nd and Burnley to win the play-offs and another has said we'll be the PL whipping boys should we manage to keep up with them and get promoted.

Doesn't surprise me I have never come across more arrogant tosspots than Wham fans.

I would expect us to change our shape, starting with a diamond in midfield to try and control the game (ie possession is king, ergo Morgan's 5-6 yard sideways passes), whilst matching up WHU's liking to pack the middle of the park. I think Hammond will come in for Guly in the only change to the starting XI,

Morgan

Hammond Cork

Lallana

Bart replaces DC on the bench. as I think you can only get away with not having a sub keeper at home.

Agreed, West Ham do look to have a tougher run in than us.

They play Palace, Boro, Hull and Watford at home whereas we play them away so if we could get within 2-3 points of their tally in these games then I think we'll overhaul them.

Long way to go yet though.

Our agenda is 7 home and 9 away though, should be OK all the same.

I'm counting 19 points at home and at least 12 away as being enough to get at least 2nd.

Looking at our respective run-ins - they still have to play every other side in the top half, while ours is weighted towards the lower-placed teams - Saints 6 to play in the top half/ 10 in the bottom; West Ham 11 in the top/6 in the bottom

Might be important - then again we lost twice to Bristol City. I know I'd rather have our fixtures than theirs though

Sorry but how is that harder for them?

Plus it is way too early to be discussing run-ins in the first place, and let's be honest, when we beat West Ham we went five points clear. What does it count for now? Very little, and I can't imagine the result on Tuesday will have much more of an impact if any. There are still a lot of games left.
