eelpie Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 Who do you reckon he was watching?? NA - his rival for the England job.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 Anyone British and under the age of 23 in preparation for the Olympics in the summer.
SNSUN Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 He came to watch James Ward-Prowse, Ben Reeves, Luke Shaw and Jake Sinclair. He left disappointed.
CanadaSaint Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 I hope he wasn't looking at any of our players. I dread him getting his hands on them because I don't think they'd ever be the same again.
Badger Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 Tell him to f^ck off and come back when he can string a sentence together in audible English... Like 'Arry he leads a charmed life due to his image portrayed by the media. Not a coach, not a manager. Would not want him at club level, certainly not the national team.
stardustonmyfeet Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 I can't believe he's been allowed near the U21s, Team GB and the senior national team.
Crab Lungs Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 I can't believe he's been allowed near the U21s, Team GB and the senior national team. Nah, he's definitely got an eye for a player. Muamba, Henderson et al instead of Lallana? Makes perfect sense.
Badger Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 I can't believe he's been allowed near the U21s, Team GB and the senior national team. Probably the only person without a job available at the time. And of course he's a "name" , so must be good and beyond critiscism.
Crab Lungs Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 Probably the only person without a job available at the time. And of course he's a "name" , so must be good and beyond critiscism. Don't forget that irrefutable, must-have key skill to be a top manager; passion, passion, passion.
Badger Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 Don't forget that irrefutable, must-have key skill to be a top manager; passion, passion, passion. Yes of course, the shouting and remonstrating on the touchline. Wonder if the FA offer courses in this technique ?
Crab Lungs Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 Yes of course, the shouting and remonstrating on the touchline. Wonder if the FA offer courses in this technique ? I'm unsure, but if they don't already might I suggest that they add it to their coaching curriculum. Just imagine... several hundred Stuart Pearce's coming through St George's Park football centre every year.
John Boy Saint Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 Rickie - over age player. Adam Lallana Jack Cork Aaron Martin Kelvin- over age player
ludgershallsaint Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 Rickie - over age player. Adam Lallana Jack Cork Aaron Martin Kelvin- over age player AL would be over age too.
Liquidshokk Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 Jack Cork could definitely be an Olympic player. Good experience, right age, top quality and definitely not going to Euro 2012! Little things keep coming back from dinner with Cortese. Latest memory jog is that he said cork and ward-prowse were selected for initial 300 for Olympics (plus one other if i remember rightly) Not sure if that's common knowledge. Also remembered earlier (off topic) that he said Guly told him that he thought the players didnt like him when he first arrived, as he's used to shaking each players hand in the dressing room but no one invited him to shake their hand. Seems he is a sensitive chap, which may explain his change in attitude for some games.
hamster Posted 11 February, 2012 Posted 11 February, 2012 The catering? The Balti pies? The 'ale'. (joke).
Mr Saints Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Lambo for the Holland friendly? He was immense today.
L1Minus10 Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Lambert and Lallana for England - obvious.
Stepgar Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Lambert and Lallana for England - obvious. On yesterday's performance - definatley
suewhistle Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 It's not crazy to anyone watching our games each week, but would be to the rest of the country. He is such a good all round player, far higher quality, touch, vision etc than many top flight strikers, and we've seen a lot of championship strikers do well up there recently. Always wonder how a big club would do picking a player like this, or Holt, Graham etc. Cheap, hard working, consistent and better than Torres! These players deserve more chances. Shame it won't happen, as Rickie is 10 times the player Carroll is. So 350 million then. I saw a bit of the pool-utd game on a stream. Did they really pay £35m??!! Given a choice I'd actually prefer Lambert.. Pity he's not younger.
Window Cleaner Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 can only have been looking at Cork for the Olympics unless of course Morgan has acquired British nationality. Rickie for England ...forget it, if he wants that sort of player Pearce will take Grant Holt.
Saint_clark Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Is he not still in charge of the under 21s and only in charge of the full team on a temporary basis?
Window Cleaner Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Is he not still in charge of the under 21s and only in charge of the full team on a temporary basis? One match for the full squad,Holland friendly. I can't quite see what's going to happen if Harry turns England down, which he may well do if Spurs get another Champion's League place.Pearce has the Olympics to prepare and couldn't do the Euros correctly.
Matthew Le Tissier Posted 12 February, 2012 Posted 12 February, 2012 Pearce was at game a few weeks back to. My mate spoke to him and he said he was there to look at cork. And not sure how true it is but kelvin was also mentioned for the olympics
Saint Fan CaM Posted 13 February, 2012 Posted 13 February, 2012 If Harry gets the England job, Pearce won't want to stay around and has been made a provisional offer of Director of Football at SMS if we make the Prem. Possibly.
CanadaSaint Posted 13 February, 2012 Posted 13 February, 2012 If Harry gets the England job, Pearce won't want to stay around and has been made a provisional offer of Director of Football at SMS if we make the Prem. Possibly. That would take "nightmare" to a whole new level.
Matthew Le God Posted 13 February, 2012 Posted 13 February, 2012 If Harry gets the England job, Pearce won't want to stay around and has been made a provisional offer of Director of Football at SMS if we make the Prem. And what would Pearce's job involve that Les Reed's doesn't do already?
Bucks Saint Posted 13 February, 2012 Posted 13 February, 2012 And what would Pearce's job involve that Les Reed's doesn't do already? Les Reed does something?
