DC = Different Class. Love it.

Sounds like all the early-season confidence and swagger is back. Perhaps no coincidence we reverted to playing Guly on the right as he did so well earlier in the season.

Brilliant response to the disappointment of Tuesday night's defeat. we've got everyone back fit (except Chappers of course) and the confidence is back too. If we can put in another winning run now then we have a great chance of auto-promotion.

Good win, sounded like a decent performance which builds confidence and no injuries either. Time to gather some momentum. Glad to see Guly on the right where I think he is more effective and has an unlikely but very good partnership with Richardson.

Squad is strong, so I expect some changes for Tuesday and also Cardiff losing helps a lot too.

Lots of twists and turns to come but we are starting off this frantic 3 months on the right foot.

Do we think maybe Chappers was rested today (he said himself he was fit) to keep him fresh for West Ham? Think he might be just the sort of player we need for that game. Same goes for Puncheon perhaps?

Very important win today, great to hear Sharp and Lambert working well. That's a class forward line. Would have liked to see Tadanari on earlier.

Brilliant that Jos is back and playing 90 minutes.

Bring on Tuesday!

Is this the 3rd game in a row that we want the skates to get something? Does not feel right!

I was just about to mention that. I'd take a draw here but I'd rather Pompey won and Blackpool drifted away a bit. They're a good team though, Blackpool, and I think they'll win this, and keep up the pressure on the chasing pack.

What a difference the returning players & January acquisitions have made. I remember a game at the beginning of January where I looked at our bench and thought 'Christ that's weak' and today I looked and thought bloody hell no chaplow, de Ridder or falque in the squad what a position to be in for the run in. Bring on west ham COYR

That was more like it. We didn't play too badly against Cardiff, but this was a much more solid professional showing.

I thought we had a nice zip about us, and the movement up top was excellent. It was a great home debut for Sharp and he looks exactly the sort of striker we've been crying out for, some of his runs were fantastic. Lambo put in your typical all round centre forward display, he's so technically gifted and isn't just the big burly striker. He's got great technique too.

I thought the star of the show was Lallana though, back to his best and dictating the attacking tempo of the team. He was constnatly involved and making clever little runs into space - a very clever player.

I thought another big positive was the performance of the full backs. I've been critical of them in recent weeks, but I thought they were both excellent today - especially Richardson who was back to his best, summed up by that fantastic cross for Lallana's goal. If they're both back into the grove it's such a great attacking outlet for us as their delivery is class.

We've beaten and nullified a very good team today though, IMO. A massive 3 points and it's now time to get back on top on Tuesday night.

Bring it on.

Personally I think that what we saw today was our current "1st team" when everybody is fit.

Don't see any much change on Tuesday although we'll probably only have 1 of Lee or Connolly on the bench.

Whether we'll go with the no keeper option again remains to be seen, it depends just how good our stand in actually is.

IMO it's not just "a big positive" to have the two full backs playing well - it's absolutely critical to the way Adkins wants to play.

Like most people, I've felt that our loss of form dates back to the loss of Chappers, but - far from coincidentally - I think the form of our full backs went down the sh*tter at about the same time.

If they're playing well and crossing well, there's not a team in this division that can live with us.

Lambert was ludicrously good today. Fantastic technique and found some of Sharp's great runs superbly.

Cork, Lallana, Hooiveld and Fox also excellent.

Fans that were slagging Connolly proven wrong as I knew they would - he was class when he came on!

Should be a cracker at Upton Park - same team I think...

Apart from a spell at the beginning of the second half where we were pegged back a bit, we totally dominated the game.

Will be interested in the highlights to see if David Connolly's disallowed goal was offside or not.

I don't know how Sharp's goal went in. I couldn't tell if it was a brilliant flick that wrong-footed the keeper or just a ricochet that the goalie dropped, but it's good that he's got his first goal on the board.

Ref gave some interesting decisions. Connolly was pushed over when through on goal. The linesman didn't flag for a throw in until after a Burnley player caught the ball. Fonte hacked down in their box. Also gave us some free kicks that should have gone the other way.

Possession, passing and movement were all brilliant. We looked very comfortable in possession for long periods of the game.

Guly did well to win some balls in the air and I generally think that he is under-rated. I don't think that we should play him away at West Ham. I think that we will play Puncheon on the right with either Chaplow or Hammond playing in midfield, with Schneiderlin making way. Guly and Schneiderlin are great players, but are at their best with time and space that we can find at home. Against West Ham I think that we should play our players with pace and energy and look to run in behind with passes over the top.

No way Chaplow will start against West Ham...

No way Morgan or Cork should be dropped...

Or Guly...

Correct.......this is the first team, those that don't like it need to get over it.And for the complete idiots Chaplow is NOT a central midfield player...hasn't played a single league game for us there this season. If you want to include Chaplow then you have to drop Guly or Lallana and pass on Puncheon...which is why NA isn't doing it.

Lallana & Lambert Superb. Morgan & Cork Bossed it. Guly immense. Hoover & Fonte absolutely top notch. Frazer & Fox both showing there worth. Billy Sharp... He is going to do very, very well for us. The first thing he done wrong and it ends up in the net.

Great result, great display and it really did look like we are back to our best (bar first 10 of 2nd half).

Decent performance right from the back. Davis either played it quick or kicked to Lambert, The full backs were good but the two centre backs dominated, They are a pair and it looked good. Guly was decent, Lallana back buzzing took his goal well. Up front Sharp was a class act, not the quickest but really sharp playing on the shoulders of the defenders and so aware of not drifting offside. Lambert was my MOM for his all round touch and control. I've left the central midfield until last on purpose. Cork worked hard and was at his best towards the end. Schneiderlin had loads of possession but just so negative sideways and backwards. He gave away several needless fouls. After half time Barclay for about twenty five minutes won every loose ball but Burnley were disappointing for me. They passed a bit but the end product was a lofted ball into our box mostly gobbled up by the defenders.

A really good result, kept possession quite well were lucky with the second goal but should have had more as several easy close range chances weren't converted. We had a much higher tempo which we lost a little and backed off a bit at the start of the second half but picked up the pace and were comfortable at the end.

I can see Adkins using Puncheon and Chaplow to share one high-tempo role on the right, with the substitute coming on to replace the starter when his intensity is starting to drop.

We looked good when we had pace and intensity on the right flank - it contributed a lot to our shape and balance and helped the opposite flank to look good as well.

We sounded utterly comfortable, which is how we sounded earlier in the season.

That's exactly how it felt in the ground too. Purely a coincidence that the return to 3pm Saturday matches sees us back ripping it up? Obviously we've got some very key players back fit (and in-form, taking Lallana as a case in point) but the 'normal' schedule may suit us better.

We controlled the game today in a manner not seen at home in 2012, almost a complete team performance. Burnley were very lucky not to concede more and had a few strange decisions go their way.

The most important part for me is that we appear to have the ability to play our best players in their strongest roles - long may it continue. Not to mention a bench full of people that seem to slot in snugly when called upon - and that's even without Punch or Chappers!
