pedg Posted 11 February, 2012 Share Posted 11 February, 2012 Think there is a statement that they don't intend to. What is probably happening is that news corp are making sure they get rid of all the journo's who have done any bribing or hacking so they can then come out clean at the end. Probably a better approach than all the previous denials and cover ups.

Saintandy666 Posted 11 February, 2012 Share Posted 11 February, 2012 It's quite clear now News International, and perhaps/probably a lot of our tabloid press were rotten to the core. Whether closing down all the publications as some are now calling for the Sun to go is a good idea or not, I don't know... it's one less voice, but something major needs to be done. The media should be reporting the news, not BEING the news.

Sky won't shut down, but it's a real possibility, Murdoch and co will have to sell their shares in it.
angelman Posted 11 February, 2012 Share Posted 11 February, 2012 What makes the most money, or rather, what will in the future? Papers (the thing you physically hold) have a limited future. Murdoch has already set up a pay as you read scheme on his digital media. It get's few people at the moment, but who knows how many in the future will sign up. {As an aside, Daily Mail is the most read on line "news" site in the world}. Sky on the other hand, makes a nice fat profit, and I suspect that a lot of this has to do with his desire to take over Sky. Andy666, why do you think that he will sell his shares in it? scotty Posted 11 February, 2012 Share Posted 11 February, 2012 The sun has had its day anyway, just like the notw. Doesnt make any money worth a fart for the shrivelled oriental-sh*gger in the context of his other media cash cows. He'll probably be glad to see the back of it. There's talk of him and his company losing its licence as a fit and proper person to hold shares in a broadcasting company.
