How will we feel at 5 o'clock

What if....... we win. First home win of 2012. 8 points out of the last 6 games is still not great but it could be the turn around. Still in in second, even if Birmingham and Cardiff both win away from home. If one or both of them drop points, all the better and WHU losing at Peterborough would help. Conclusion. As long as we win games, it doesn't matter what the teams around us do and they will all have the occasional slip. A draw at WHU on Tuesday will do and then another win next week against Derby. Things are looking up!!!

What if...... we draw. Another home game without a win. Beginning to look serious. No, not just beginning, because 5 points from the last 5 games was already that, so 6 from the last 6 just confirms the slide. Could even be the day we slip out of the promotion places if Birmingham have beaten Barnsley. The whole squad to choose from, except Butterfield and Seaborne, and the new signings all available, but still just a draw. Where is the next win coming from?

What if.......we lose. Oh, well, its just a game of football. There are more important things in life.

Whatever happens - for those of you on The Match Day Thread, you'll all have to get through it without me and Phil.

I'm working and Phil will be smoozing with the rich and famous at The Emirates Golf Club. Look out for The Sash on Sky if you watch the golf today.

Ain will take a much better all round performance than we have put on for a long while - they are certainly no mugs away from home and don't let many goals in. But Forest, Mboro and Brum both came to SMS with fantastic away records and those games turned out alright!!

Draw - a highly likely outcome, other results will determine if it is realy bad or not too damaging.

Loss - Let the wrist slitting begin regardless of what has happened else where - threads for how long before NA gets the chop and who our next manager will be!!

This posted by Turkish sums it up.....aprt from number 12) lately.

1/ the championship is a great, competitive league. Unlike top flight

2/ promotion will see the return of the JCL *****s who ****ed off in 2005. No thanks, stay away

3/ we won't have to out up with sky going on and on and on and on about how brilliant Man united/ man city/Chelsea/Liverpool/arsenal are when they play us

4/ prices will be better

5/ going to away games thinking you can win rather than hoping not to lose by more than 3

6/ less ***** players

7/ less ***** fans

8/ less ***** corporates

9/ less mercenary players

10/ expecting to finish top half rather than 4th bottom being a success

11/ sky going on about how brilliant Rooney/aguero/Bale/Van Persie/lampard are when they play us

12/ Saturday 3pm kick offs

13/ no ***** armchair Man u/city/Chelsea/arsenal/spurs fans taking the **** when they beat us

I think it could go either way, but I am not sure why we are not winning games, as the team is the same, if anything much stronger with the additions to the squad. It is just confidence, but a big just. If we could get the swagger and belief back we could return to the premier league. This is now the time for the manager to earn his corn, and for the players to stand up and be counted.

2 months and we could be back in the premier league, or facing another slog in the championship, either way it is going to be fun!

Head says a draw, heart says 3-1

Please let me and all of us on here be happy at 5pm! A win in anyway would be good!

Psychologically if we can close the gap to one point today and go top Tuesday, despite their game in hand, what a huge boost that would be!

I think the team at home knowing that their lead could be overturned, can have a negative effect. I think if this was the case, they would be happy with the draw, and to keep their top spot.

Let's do the business today first though.
