Barney Trubble Posted 10 February, 2012 Share Posted 10 February, 2012 I need to know the easiest and cheapest way of getting to Wood Green, Haringey (not far from Earls Cross), from the West Midlands. I can use Walsall, Wolverhampton, or any Birmingham Station. I was going to use National Express but thought i'd look into the train networks. I will be travelling next week, either Monday or Tuesday and it'll be off-peak. From what I can make out, Wood Green is best accessed from Victoria? I have been told that Turnpike Lane would be easier to get to and it's a five minute walk to Wood Green but I have only ever drove into London, so it's a case of gathering as much information as I can. Train prices seem expensive so any hints and tips would be welcome.
Danny R Posted 10 February, 2012 Share Posted 10 February, 2012 Cheapest way I have found to go from London to the Midlands and vice versa is to put your journey options in and click advanced options then go via Northampton, this will give you the much cheaper London Midland trains into London Euston (approx £22 rtn). Change at Euston for the Victoria Line and get off at Tottenham Hale for Harringey.

Sour Mash Posted 10 February, 2012 Share Posted 10 February, 2012 Really easy to get to, 20 mins from the centre of London using th Picaddilly line. What you going for? Its a dump? Where's Earls Cross? Between Earls Court and Kings Cross?
Barney Trubble Posted 10 February, 2012 Author Share Posted 10 February, 2012 Thanks folks, some good help so far. Sour Mash - No idea about Earls Cross? It's where I was told it's nearby. I am going to see a friend who has just moved there from abroad (well for a few months and then back to Thailand).
stu0x Posted 11 February, 2012 Share Posted 11 February, 2012 Driving not an option? M40, A40, left at Hangar Lane is by far the easiest way
Barney Trubble Posted 11 February, 2012 Author Share Posted 11 February, 2012 Driving not an option? M40, A40, left at Hangar Lane is by far the easiest way I thought about it but once you factor in at least £40 in fuel, the hassle of getting there due to traffic and then I would have to probably pay for parking for 1-2 days then I felt it would be prudent to just go via National Express or train.
