Ryan Dickson, Dan Harding, Danny Fox- We loan out Dickson who is better than harding imho, sell joseph Mills who is now a key player in Readings team and then go for Paul Robinson??? WTF!

Peacey is a mental, excellent responses, especially the one about Fish being any good and Dickson being better than Harding or Fox...

I don't see why people think Fish is so awful. I always thought he did a decent job at LB under portvliet in this division and wouldn't have looked out of place in L1 last year. About 5 years ago he got promoted from L1 with S****horpe under Adkins. Got a good delivery and clearly other people rate him as he's played for both Donny + Reading consistently at this level.

Reading have replaced him with a 38 year old who can't run and their results have improved.

Perhaps positionally more adept, mind you having seen Martin charging about like a blue arsed fly in the left back position, waving goodbye to Millwall players with his legs on Tuesday it might not be such a bad solution.

Not necessarily Paul Robinson but I have thought for a while now we could do with a couple of players who can occasionally mix it up a bit - we seem too "nice" at times and in certain games you have to fight fire with fire when attractive passing football isn't working. As a team we seem back off too much, especially in the full back positions and seem to lose a disproportionate amount of 50/50 tackles in midfield. Chappers coming back will of course help.

Harte is a bit of an exception to be fair, he's protected by McAnuff who works hard, and he still has excellent set-piece delivery. Actually now I think about it, he's like a much less agile - but equally likely to run forward - version of Danny Fox.

I don't think Fish is a bad player, he's probably a reasonable lower-half Championship full back in a side with the experience he lacks. I just think a lot of his energy is misplaced and he always does exactly the same thing with the ball, which is attempt to enthusiastically whip it towards the target, which some of the time results in spectacular miscues, and isn't always what you want when the team is under pressure at full back. Fox may not always pass the simple safe ball, but he CAN and usually knows when to.

I would rather support loan deal of Chris Samba from Blackburn who is available. Would take him on loan till the end of the season and then sign him during that stay!!!

Why on earth would Blackburn loan Samba to us when they've already turned down offers for a permanent move.

You have to be realistic I'm afraid.

Great idea! I expect we could also borrow Alex from Chelsea and sign him while they are not looking.

Alex is at PSG, probably whilst Chelsea weren't looking.Only 4 million £, but these lads will only sign for big name clubs anyway.

One things for sure...with him at left back that millwall winger wouldnt have walked through our defence as easily as he did for their second goal the other night - lightweight namby pamby defence we have.

Wouldn't have got past Jos and Fox would probably have been where he should have anyway. We were 2-1,can't quite understand what TF we thought we were doing.

Oh dear - you thought I was being serious :)

Not in a million years. Now if we were looking for a 24yo Robbie Savage type midfielder, that would be a different kettle of fish. However, with Chappers getting fit, that may be the answer.

IMO we are on a par with Bolton, if he can't get a start in their side what chance has he got down at SMS.

We are not on a par with Bolton, IMO

Always found it strange Mills was released.......showed all the signs of being a top qulaity player. Now showing it at Reading.

The9 - what on earth were you on about? Mills is a regualr at Reading (missed some games due to injury, not dropped) and has just been given a contract extension.

I would have Mills over Fox or Harding any day of the week.

Not overly impressed with Adkins deaings in the transfer market to date..........
