The kind of thing you would get away with if it happened on the High St. the copper was taken to SGH with a suspected broken jaw. I know someone who witnessed it and they said the cracking noise the blow made was horrible........... the fact that he has been released from hospital so quickly hopefully points to the injury not being as severe as at first thought.

I have supported Saints all my adult life, and whilst I may enjoy a beer or three before a match, I have never felt the need to be off my trolley in order to enjoy a game.

Of course I have been drunk before. How does my theory relate to pubs? Why should you, I, or anyone have to suffer people who cannot control their actions to due excessive alcohol intake? Especially when we have paid good money to attend a sporting event, which is complately different to being in a pub. A 3 year ban is certainly an OTT punishment, but that doesnt make the relevant law being broken a 'disgusting' one.

But, fortunately, I was stationed away from the UK for most of that time-frame. However, yes, that was the period when I needed some dutch-courage to attend a match (but I can never recall having so much that I lost control of myself).
