JackanorySFC Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Going to Bologna on Sunday, part of my trip will be to watch them play Juve at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara. Just wondering if anyone has been before and what the score is re tickets? Had a scan on google and mostly getting spammed with sites offering touting services. Have been to Naples to watch Napoli (genuinely mental place/ club – can’t recommend it enough) and was able to buy tickets easily from tobacconists/ newsagents. Just wondering if they have a similar set up at other Italian grounds? Ta.

JackanorySFC Posted 9 February, 2012 Author Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Been to Bologna a few times and the ticket arrangements are the similar to Napoli. Out of interest where are you staying? We stayed here and here. Small world, we are booked into the Hotel Touring! Location and reviews looked good, price amazing, paying £178 for 3 nights inc breakfast - can't argue with that? Any other recommendations of things to do/ places to go? Already booked a table http://www.drogheriadellarosa.it/ as heard lots of good things about the place. Thanks in advance in case my posting limit runs out (Steve, if your reading this send me the bank details to renew my annual payment - don't do Paypal). This Charming Man Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 I'm still hoping the San Marino v England game is played there. Looks a fantastic ground and city. Be sure to hang up your St Georges Cross as they're playing Juve...

Bologna is a "must do" for me thanks to the best England goal I've ever seen being scored there -Platt vs Belguim WC 2nd round Italia 90. City looks class, best food in Italy - cannee go wrong there! SOUTHAMPTON FC St George's cross a given. Will post it on twitter for you to see.... Looking forward to getting the latest edition of their Ultra's mag too. Post count done for sure now! View From The Top Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Stone Island / CP Company used to have a factory shop 30mins from Bologna in Crevelcore which was always worth taking an empty suitcase for and then making a fortune on ebay but it's now, alas closed. Used to go once a month! Bologna is a city easily done on foot or bus but it is a big place. Great city centre with a chilled feel with all the students there. Food is out of this world. However, saying all that, I prefer Parma, my favourite Italian city by a long, long way.

City looks class, best food in Italy - cannee go wrong there! I was there! Bologna is nicknamed La Grassa (the fat one because of the good food) and La Rossa (red - coz it's left wing). The administration did fans proud in 1990 as with little notice they helped set up a fans camp, a phone line for the FSA etc.

Yeah should be the same set up as Naples re buying tickets, although playing Juve will probably pull a fair crowd in. Changed trains in Bologna once, just remember it as being covered in graffiti, lots of white rastas with dogs on strings bowling about, seemed like a left wing city, but this is over 10 years ago. Sounds rogue - I like it (although a shame I don't speak decent Italian as I'd love to put some of the local Socialists straight on a thing or 2!) The missus bought us the trip for Christmas, knows I love Italy, Italian football, Italian clothes, Italian coffee, Italian architecture and Italian women... well maybe not the last one! New ground to tick off and get a few days in (what seems to be) a cracking City to boot. However, bless here, she doesn't have a clue where Stansted is and booked us onto the 6.30am flight on Sunday thinking it was "near Gatwick".... Sue - I doff my cap to you mate! What a game to be at, that ball from Gascoigne... and the finish from Platt.... wonder stuff! Did you do any other games? I hear Naples was a bit hairy at times? Italia 90 - Best World cup in my lifetime by a mile. Why FIFA insist on holding WC's in "new" nations like Japan/ S Korea/ USA/ S Africa etc perplexes me, whenever it's held somewhere like France, Germany, Italy (or to be fair, I bet Brazil 2014 will be class) where football is in the nation's blood it's always better! buctootim Posted 10 February, 2012 Share Posted 10 February, 2012 bless here, she doesn't have a clue where Stansted is and booked us onto the 6.30am flight on Sunday thinking it was "near Gatwick".... Stay at a hotel the night before. Getting up at 1am to get to the airport just spoils the start of the trip imo. Ive used the Holiday Inn Express at Stansted, much nicer than expected and cost £85 including breakfast and a weeks parking.
