albond10 Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 I am doing research into football attendances so would be grateful if fans could fill in a survey via this link http://kwiksurveys.com/?s=OMHLHN_614b280e Thanks. P.S. Sorry for the adverts with in the survey just ignore them.
kpturner Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Can I just ignore the survey rather than the adverts it contains?
ant Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Filled it in, but Q13 really ought to be established from the word go! I'm a season ticket holder and couldn't imagine not having one, I expect many are the same. Had to fluff my way through a few questions so the answers may be less valid. Hatch Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 I've done both the survey and signed up for an MBA at Leeds University.

Sorry mate .. normally happy to help genuine research, but I'm not giving my name at the bottom of page 1 and giving consent unless I can see what questions are coming up on page 2 first. You need to enable wary gits like me to see the later questions before I'll start.

The9 Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Done. Those "how many matches do you attend" questions are terribly worded, by the way.
CB Fry Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Jeez. What is happening to our education system. That survey was diabolical. Dreadful wording and questions that really are going to glean jack in terms of useful insight. I mean, what the fu ck.... If a game is being broadcast and should be good or involving top teams, would this stop you attending your team’s game? I know it's only a uni project but come on. I am starting to think this is actually just spam and we've all been done for our IP addresses or something. Obviously I put a fake name. Ian Brennan. Saint Garrett Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Not the best survey I've ever done, but happy to help a fellow Saint (if that is the case). Done.
Benj Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 That distance one gets me, obviously aimed at the Midlands team, the longest distance to travel being 51-60 miles.

Yes - the group I travel with travel over 100 miles for home games

The9 Posted 10 February, 2012 Share Posted 10 February, 2012 That distance one gets me, obviously aimed at the Midlands team, the longest distance to travel being 51-60 miles. I honestly can't imagine what useful stat could be produced from that, given the micro level of differences - there's nowhere that asks if you watch your own team all the time or if you pitch up at random matches (used to do that, going 300 miles on occasion just for the hell of it). No mention at all of the cost of transport, which is the one thing that's currently stopping me going to a lot more more matches. There's a recession on, how about "how far do you live from the club you support" and "how many away matches a season would you attend if money was no object?" - without those you can only assume the reasons why people aren't travelling - if you can work out that they're actually travelling at all. I was also somewhat bewildered at the 8 research governance questions you had to answer before starting. If anything's going to put people off responding it's that, and I say that as someone who's recently been involved in a piece of national research on information sharing between health and social care, for which the governance is enormous. Islander Posted 10 February, 2012 Share Posted 10 February, 2012 Done - it wasn't very well thought out was it? I'm still waiting for the survey that asks about your method of transport to a game and includes the option of ferry/catamaran!!
Mattio Posted 10 February, 2012 Share Posted 10 February, 2012 I got halfway and realised how flawed/long/boring it was and stopped... sorry!
