Dr Who? Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 As much as I hate to say this, but in a way, I was not that disappointed that old saggy face did not get locked up today. The reason for this is that if he did go down that would be the end of his England managers chances. Now personally I believe he would by an excellent England manager, no matter how painful it is to think that let alone write it down on a saints fans forum! I really do think he will get the best out of the best players in the country. Only time will tell if he does do a great job, but we will get to find out. Maggie May Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 I think Adkins should be handed the England post so Harry can make his return to St Mary's. He has unfinished business here, IMO.
Block 18 Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 if your looking for a man that has recently taken a bunch of overpaid under achievers and turned them into some sort of success the Pardew is your man, given his recent record with Newcastle and us. Dr Who? Posted 8 February, 2012 Author Share Posted 8 February, 2012 Saying that, I do not think any manager will bring a trophy, but think saggy face will bring the best out of what we have. Perhaps even another semi final penalty shoot out defeat to look forward to. FC knew he was going to epic fail this summer, so was looking to leave IMO. Channon's Sideburns Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 HR is a cheque book manager - he proved when he was at Saints that, with little money to spend, he couldn't man manage or motivate our squad to avoid relegation. That was the ONLY time he's operated without the fun of transfers. Why does anyone think he'll be more of a success as England manager? Probably a nice bloke. Because ok he does not have the funds, but he gets to pick from a long list of english failed players. So the best you can buy, but without needing to. Ideal for him. SNSUN Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 I've always been Saints first, England second. If he gets in, I'll be Saints first with a less than passing interest in England. (Roaring on Team GB at the Olympics in the process.) Mourinho would be an outstanding England manager IMO. Worth a punt, more than the c*nt. St.Jeweller Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 at least the FA won't have to pay bag puss any wages/contract as surely he'll refuse payment as he has so much money stashed away in differently named bank accounts consisting of un taxable bonuses
Bourne Valley Saint Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 This has all come about due to John Terry being a complete knobhead. Great timing though -no sooner had Capello gone into his meeting with the FA, just round the corner Harry and Milano were being acquitted of tax evasion! They might as well have sent a cab for him to go straight to the FA for the interview. If he does get the job, fair play to him. At least he's got a bit of character, unlike some recent ones who must have had a charisma bypass! Mind you, Roy Hodgson might be in with a shout. anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 If he wasn't a cheeky chappie media favourite would there be such a clamour for redknapp? Of course not. Hodgson for example has got a much better range of experience and success but he's got zero charisma. Personally I'd prefer a foreign manager because there really aren't (m)any decent English candidates.
Ric Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 Just when I thought that I'd reached the nadir of my interest in the England team, today happens. You just know that the FA have been waiting for the Harry verdict, and now he's apparently not a tax-dodging criminal, they're paving the way for him to become manager of the national team. They all deserve each other.
sticksaint Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 I won`t be supporting England if he becomes manager. So i say this with a heavy heart -but i cannot bring myself to support him.Got a couple of mates (saints fans ) who said exactly the same.

Danish Saint Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Norwegian article on Saggyface as England manager. Included comments from Anders Svensson: http://www.nrk.no/sport/fotball/1.7989115 Translated Svensson bit with Google: But - not everyone has good experiences with the 64-year-old from London. - Harry is a nice guy, but football knowledge? I found no tactical knowledge, says the Swede Anders Svensson in an interview with Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. He played under Redknapp at Southampton in the 2004/2005-season. Svensson says Redknapp at Tottenham has shown a good intuition when it comes to which players should be looked at, because the team works so well for some major changes. - But tactically, no there is not much, he said. Bought new - relegated Svensson points out an episode in January 2005. Southampton had beaten Liverpool 2-0, and won the local derby against Portsmouth 2-1. During the same period Redknapp happy to buy, bought more new faces to a team Svensson believed already worked very well - and made a number of rotations. Svensson was one of the players more or less lost his place in the starting and the team were relegated. - I had no problems with him as a person, but I'm surprised that he is so highly valued in terms of his tactical skills

Wilko Posted 9 February, 2012 Share Posted 9 February, 2012 Harry would be no better than anybody else as England manager. I won't support England if he's given the job. I'm sure the FA doesn't care what I think, but that is my position.
