Well while i'm sure everyone on this forum is ready to cry them a river, it worked very well from a police perspective.

Interested to see where they are going to put 60 coaches at SMS though.

I thought it worked very well from a fans perspective as well.

They will easily fit the buses in brittania rd, probably get them turned round while the match is on, if they're still in existence...

pet skate at work was moaning about it today. didn't fancy it as one of the coaches got bricked last time ?

he also said that they would be served alcohol as well ?

That's because he's an idiot - legally you're not even allowed alcohol on private coaches / minibuses going to football, never mind ones with police escorts...

I'm not quite sure why they're complaining about it NOW, they announced they'd be using it for BOTH matches when they announced it for the Fratton game, which was about 4 months ago.

Might have meant be served alcohol in the away end?

Would get nearly that in brittania road if it is completely closed.

I reckon the coaches will come off the motorway at burseldon, travel through Thornhill & Bitterne, over Northam Bridge and then either turn immediatly left into Princes street and on to Brittania Road or straight on to Brittania Road after crossing Northam Bridge.

You mean exactly like the bubble buses did on their way back from Fratton ? Based on that, down Princes Street (assuming that's the road next to the Prince of Wales pub) through the industrial estate - and the coaches to queue from the closed off northern end of Britannia Road into the industrial estate for their holding area.

Yes many Saints fan raised similar objections.

And the whole "civil liberties" thing is still a valid point in my book - but you cannot use the bubble for one lot of fans and then not use it for the return fixture.

Despite it being something I think shouldn't be allowed, you have to admit that it worked.

Personally i'd like to see one of their lot challenge it in court, they've got enough unemployed pikies to legal funding so it'll be cheaper for them. I'm of the opinion the bubble was a ****ing disgrace and damaged what's normally one of the best away days we have.

Of course i'm not surprised a lot of the internet geeks we had on here thought it was a success as they probably bingo bus it anyway. I'd love to see the uproar if they were forced to go by train instead, it's a bit different when it's your preferred means that's taken out the equation.

did it? It cost me more money, obtaining tickets was a massive hassle and in the end there was no difference to travelling by a club coach. If you lived near Portsmouth or London way it was considerable inconvenience. Did the Policing costs go down? Helicopters and god knows how many police throughout the route suggests otherwise to me. If they did then I can see the argument for it, but did it? In the end what actually worked as I don't recall there being any trouble at the 2005 game so what improvement was there?

I do agree that its only fair that they have a bubble as we did, but I still don't see the bubble as some huge success.

Left field but made me chuckle for some reason

I was told that a Saints fan volunteered to challenge the bubble on court, but he did so too late to get a judge to rule on it. I expect the FSF to search for a candidate in Pompey.

I have been told that they have to pay the bus fare direct to the bus company not the club also they use the same coach firm as us and they have to have the money in the coach firms bank the day before the coach is required or they will not supply the coach.

Fair play to the coach company.

Im sure we will give them a pleasent reception when they enter the SO region, just like they did to us , oh yeah i forgot, it was like a ghost town going in and out of skatesville wasnt it :D

Never really thought about it but we got zero abuse and hardly saw any pfc fans on the route. Strange. I bet we wont be so forgiving over Northam Bridge and past Northam Estate and Thornhill Estates
