70's Mike Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Skates moaning in the News tonight about having to use the Bubble for game at SMS. Against their civil liberties apparently
Nexstar Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Well while i'm sure everyone on this forum is ready to cry them a river, it worked very well from a police perspective. Interested to see where they are going to put 60 coaches at SMS though.
sfcuk fan Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 They should be gratefull if they even survive long enough to have a match to come to ffs ! .
sfcuk fan Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Interested to see where they are going to put 6 coaches at SMS though. I've corrected it for ya !
Huffton Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Well while i'm sure everyone on this forum is ready to cry them a river, it worked very well from a police perspective. Interested to see where they are going to put 60 coaches at SMS though. I thought it worked very well from a fans perspective as well. They will easily fit the buses in brittania rd, probably get them turned round while the match is on, if they're still in existence...
milan boy Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Skates moaning in the News tonight about having to use the Bubble for game at SMS. Against their civil liberties apparently Dont ****ing come here then.......you stinking skate bastards.
forever a red and white Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 It worked well. I expect they will clsoe off much of Britannai Road and line the coaches down there and in the car park.
latter day saint Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 pet skate at work was moaning about it today. didn't fancy it as one of the coaches got bricked last time ? he also said that they would be served alcohol as well ?
The9 Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 pet skate at work was moaning about it today. didn't fancy it as one of the coaches got bricked last time ? he also said that they would be served alcohol as well ? That's because he's an idiot - legally you're not even allowed alcohol on private coaches / minibuses going to football, never mind ones with police escorts... I'm not quite sure why they're complaining about it NOW, they announced they'd be using it for BOTH matches when they announced it for the Fratton game, which was about 4 months ago.
ant Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 They should get the same treatment to the letter as our fans, surely? Just common sense, they can't have expected anything else. Oh, the common sense bit...
Sour Mash Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 That's because he's an idiot - legally you're not even allowed alcohol on private coaches / minibuses going to football, never mind ones with police escorts... Might have meant be served alcohol in the away end?
djharvey Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Well while i'm sure everyone on this forum is ready to cry them a river, it worked very well from a police perspective. Interested to see where they are going to put 60 coaches at SMS though. Would get nearly that in brittania road if it is completely closed.
djharvey Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 I reckon the coaches will come off the motorway at burseldon, travel through Thornhill & Bitterne, over Northam Bridge and then either turn immediatly left into Princes street and on to Brittania Road or straight on to Brittania Road after crossing Northam Bridge.

You mean exactly like the bubble buses did on their way back from Fratton ? Based on that, down Princes Street (assuming that's the road next to the Prince of Wales pub) through the industrial estate - and the coaches to queue from the closed off northern end of Britannia Road into the industrial estate for their holding area.
The9 Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Might have meant be served alcohol in the away end? Are you saying the Skate isn't an idiot ?
Golden Balls Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 They will be served alcohol in the away end. Dont worry, someone will definately p**s in the barrell......have already been told that everyone is planning it.

Saintandy666 Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Didn't loads of Saints moan exactly the same thing beforehand? :/
Pilchards Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 We should drive them to some waste land with a sign saying 'Quarentine' That should be a laugh!
BadgerBadger Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 They should be gratefull if they even survive long enough to have a match to come to ffs ! . I lol'd
Chez Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Didn't loads of Saints moan exactly the same thing beforehand? :/Yes many Saints fan raised similar objections.
corsacar saint Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 They have known about it for a while now, perhaps it has only just sunk into their thick skulls.
Saint_clark Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 Yes many Saints fan raised similar objections. And the whole "civil liberties" thing is still a valid point in my book - but you cannot use the bubble for one lot of fans and then not use it for the return fixture. Despite it being something I think shouldn't be allowed, you have to admit that it worked.
hamster Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 We should pass the hat round during half time and each of us **** or **** in it.
chocco boxo Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 I am sure they be singing "Bubbles" hopefully by then WHU would have ****ed up and we be back on form!
dickyhale Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 They should be gratefull if they even survive long enough to have a match to come to ffs ! . "hear, hear "
saintoaks Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 Im sure we will give them a pleasent reception when they enter the SO region, just like they did to us , oh yeah i forgot, it was like a ghost town going in and out of skatesville wasnt it
Scudamore Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 They will be served alcohol in the away end. Dont worry, someone will definately p**s in the barrell......have already been told that everyone is planning it. No change there then...
Wurzel Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 They have known about it for a while now, perhaps it has only just sunk into their thick skulls. To be fair they've only know for about 4 months. Look how long it's taken them to realise their club is in financial trouble.
This Charming Man Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 A 50 bus pile up on the M27 would be nice.
ericb Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 Personally i'd like to see one of their lot challenge it in court, they've got enough unemployed pikies to legal funding so it'll be cheaper for them. I'm of the opinion the bubble was a ****ing disgrace and damaged what's normally one of the best away days we have. Of course i'm not surprised a lot of the internet geeks we had on here thought it was a success as they probably bingo bus it anyway. I'd love to see the uproar if they were forced to go by train instead, it's a bit different when it's your preferred means that's taken out the equation.
Chez Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 (edited) you have to admit that it worked.did it? It cost me more money, obtaining tickets was a massive hassle and in the end there was no difference to travelling by a club coach. If you lived near Portsmouth or London way it was considerable inconvenience. Did the Policing costs go down? Helicopters and god knows how many police throughout the route suggests otherwise to me. If they did then I can see the argument for it, but did it? In the end what actually worked as I don't recall there being any trouble at the 2005 game so what improvement was there? I do agree that its only fair that they have a bubble as we did, but I still don't see the bubble as some huge success. Left field but made me chuckle for some reason Edited 9 February, 2012 by Chez

I was told that a Saints fan volunteered to challenge the bubble on court, but he did so too late to get a judge to rule on it. I expect the FSF to search for a candidate in Pompey.
Toomer Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 I have been told that they have to pay the bus fare direct to the bus company not the club also they use the same coach firm as us and they have to have the money in the coach firms bank the day before the coach is required or they will not supply the coach.
Minty Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 I have been told that they have to pay the bus fare direct to the bus company not the club also they use the same coach firm as us and they have to have the money in the coach firms bank the day before the coach is required or they will not supply the coach. Fair play to the coach company.
This Charming Man Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 Fair play to the coach company. More common sense than anything...
kipstryker Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 I can understand and appreciate that many of them will be frightened by the big scary 'mechanical horse thingy'. It would also be useful to provide them with some form of pictorial instruction on how to use the toilets at SMS.
Golden Balls Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 Im sure we will give them a pleasent reception when they enter the SO region, just like they did to us , oh yeah i forgot, it was like a ghost town going in and out of skatesville wasnt it Never really thought about it but we got zero abuse and hardly saw any pfc fans on the route. Strange. I bet we wont be so forgiving over Northam Bridge and past Northam Estate and Thornhill Estates

I bet we wont be so forgiving over Northam Bridge and past Northam Estate and Thornhill Estates big test for pc burrows, route into Southampton not so easy to police as into fratton.
Chez Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 big test for pc burrows' date=' route into Southampton not so easy to police as into fratton.[/quote']its a piece of ****. Junction five all the way down A335.
Saints Warrior Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 The Skate route has been confirmed. From Winchester prison to SMS as most Pompey fans are in prison or ex cons they will have a stadium breakfast in prison first then a day out. Most of the shops in Soton will be locked up so they cant rob em, during the game.
Huffton Posted 9 February, 2012 Posted 9 February, 2012 Never really thought about it but we got zero abuse and hardly saw any pfc fans on the route. Didnt see many in the stadium either...
70's Mike Posted 10 February, 2012 Author Posted 10 February, 2012 its a piece of ****. Junction five all the way down A335. so not off at jct 8 and down through Bitterne ?
