Dickson recalled

Apparantly he wants to be at a single club for the rest of the season and if he stayed at Yeovil under the terms of the Emergency loan he wouldn't be able to do that.

That looks like the case. The Yeovil fans forum says this.

I'd imagine it's to loan him to another club.

I think he is better than Harding though.

If he has played for us and for them this season then that's not possible, you can't play for more than 2 clubs in one season.

Did he make any appearances for us this term?

Edit: apparently he did, twice in the league Cup. Therefore its either go back to Yeovil or stay with us for the season.

So why was Puncheon allowed to play for Millwall, Us & Blackpool last season then?

If this is a move to give the other two a wake up call, then good move IMO. I'm sorry, but i just dont rate Fox. I've tried to keep an open mind and give him time to settle in, but he just plays far too many long balls at the first opportunity for my liking. more than 50% of these end up with us losing posession, if not immediately from his kick, then whilst struggling to control the ball. Couple this with the fact Fox rarely overlaps too, I can see why AL prefers Harding, but have to agree he's been off sorts this season too. Absolutely no reason why Dickson can't do as good a job if not better as far as im concerned.

Surely its simply that Fox will be facing a 3 match ban (or is just the one?) for his sending off, and we need cover for Harding.

Feedback on Harding last night was negative so maybe Adkins will give Dickson a game to check him over.

Fox has already served his ban.

Maybe its because Harding is sh1t

Because the rule was tightened up in the summer. Its been a FIFA rule for some time that you can only play for 2 teams in one season (you can be registered with 3). The English leagues got around that by classifying emegency loans as outside this rule; this seems to have been tightened up now.

It was why we were initially only looking to sell Puncheon rather than put him out on loan; Adkins made reference to the rule in an interview with the BBC.

There has been a change in the loan rules concerning EMERGENCY loans, but it doesn't take effect until 2014/15 as far as I can see...

Loan rules in full here, if anyone can be bothered to read them - I can't find the bit about how many clubs you can be registered for but hadn't heard it was more than 2 - and loans aren't usually changes in registration anyway. : http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20110629/section-6-players_2293633_2125731#50

No matter how poor Harding is, and he was poor last night, Dickson is worse shouldn't get anywhere near the first team he was poor in league 1 FFS (as opposed to Harding who was LB of the season). Noticable that Lallana played well yesterday with Harding behind him. Also funny how Harding is now sh it yet a few weeks back playing at RB everyone was banging on how well he did. Lets face it all defenders have games were they just end up facing a player who is better than them last night that was Harding up against Henry.

I'm torn between wanting to see him given a chance, but also not messing around with selection experiments in our remaining league games. Games are starting to run out now, it's the time for consistency rather than trying new players out.

I wouldn't mind Dickson being left out in the cold if we had signed a **** hot full back. We signed Fox and he has yet to show me he has anything but a decent first touch. Ryan has everything else, but that sadly.

To be honest Fox has got progressively worse in every game i've seen him. Started decent but has just got worse and worse and worse.

IMO he's not worth anywhere near the 1.8m we paid. We over spent there for a change.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's only coming back to go out somewhere for the rest of the season. Then again maybe Harding or Fox has picked up a knock in training or (for Harding) last night and we need the cover. Only way to find out is wait a few days.

If Harding's performance last night is anything to go by the penny may finally have dropped. Lallana preferred Harding but maybe that doesn't wash anymore.

I hope you are right - I've never been convinced by Harding. I thing Nigel "went off" Dickson after the cup tie against Man U when he made a defensive blunder - ironically Harding played quite well that day but no one will convince me he's a Championship player.

An interesting development.

Seems NA may be acting on those players who havent done what is expected of them.

Whats going on with Butterfield ? Richardson, Harding and Fox seem to have been some of biggest underachievers recently.

I brought up the question of Butterfield a few weeks ago and someone said that he had had a tiff with NA. Probably a load of **** but I do rate Butterfield.

Richardson has been one of the players of the season. He's had a couple of dodgy games recently having returned from injury but i wouldn't be thinking of dropping him yet by any means. He was a massive part of our early season success.

Harding and Fox i agree. Harding and Lallana is a better partnership but Harding has had too many poor performances to justify his inclusion. Fox has been the disappointment of the entire season for me. A solid defender but offers us absolutely NOTHING going forward due to his inability to cross the half way line, and when we're playing with such a narrow midfield i think it's a very big problem when you have full backs who won't get forward and offer you width. His constant hoofing doesn't help either.

1.8 million of dud from what i've seen. He isn't worth half that

maybe we didn't spend £1.8m. He's a strange player. He looks classy but when it comes to it his delivery us terrible time after time. I've yet to see a decent free kick or corner from him. The law of average say he'll get one right soon, but who the hell wants a fullback without pace? He's not terrible by any means. I love the way he can get himself out of a tight spot. He has a fantastic first touch, as good as you'll see at this level, but he needs a kick up the arse and made to put in a shift up and down that line. He does the bare minimum.

The issue I have with Fox is not his defending but going forward he doesn't get far enough up the pitch!
do you think he's lazy or just worried about getting caught out of position.. He never gets to the byeline ever, not since he came on in the Leicester game anyway.

Personally I'm very concerned about his defending. Because he is slow he drops deep so he won't be done behind, but that means the winger has all day to get his cross in. Havign said that he seemed to get tighter in the Brum game. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
