David Strover Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 I sum it up this way. 1. Was very happy and confident; 2. Now unhappy and not confident. On a positive note over the last thirty or so years it's mainly been 2 so it's quite nice to have had a 1 for some while.
Junction 9 Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 17 games still to play for That's the problem, if there were two I'd be more optimistic.
rudi-skacel Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 keep the faith,be positive what will be will be.
Wiggles31 Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Its a question of when we find our form again. I am hopeful we can hold out for top 2. Whilst there are few excuses about the Millwall game there were 7 changes to the starting team from Brum. With Jos fit, Puncheon back, Chaplow fit, Sharp to come in, Lambert back and still scoring, Lallana starting to find form again we can surely reach around the 80 point margin. I think a home win is very much needed asap making Burnley a huge game. Our away form seems to be improving as of late too. Our passing game has come back in patches against Cardiff and Brum which is another positive. We really need to get behind the team and get another run going. I mean I'll be honest whenever I see Brum or West Ham they look absolutely average but they always manage nick games. When we are playing at our best we are easily the best team in this division IMO. Easily.
up and away Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 I went through this depression ages ago when I realised Lallana was not influencing games enough. We can do it without Lallana but it takes most of the players to be on form, Burnley will be a very good indicator and if we can take control of that midfield, I believe we have every reason to be hopeful. Davis Richardson Fonte Martin Fox Puncheon Schneiderlin Cork Lallana Sharp Lambert Bart, Connolly, De Ridder, Guly, Harding Puncheon has been excellent, adding defensively and attack wise, just need a goal for the icing on the cake. Lallana is not there yet, but not far off. Ricky is about in the best condition he has ever been and Sharp just needs to deliver and it's going to be a different game that he has been used to with Doncaster, he has the talent. Schneiderlin and Cork have been good in the middle but if you play them both without a break for more than two games, one will go crook on you. They must rotate. If Fonte can step up more to aid the midfield I feel we would almost be there. Get Jos back for West ham and I would feel confident of winning that game even. We are a very good side who have been through a bad run. We have options now but not as many as fans think. Hammond needs a rest but Guly can provide an important role when called upon, leaving Connoly and De Ridder to change the attack.
The9 Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Realistically I'm expecting us to challenge for promotion.
Leicestersaint Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 Play offs I fear. Hope I'm wrong but it doesn't look that good.
westofshannonsaint Posted 8 February, 2012 Posted 8 February, 2012 even if we do drop out of the top 2 in the mean time, I think we will be within 3 points of promotion on the final day of the season. the goals against column is still a little concerning though.
