saintoli Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 Whats the best/cheapest option for trains and tubes to the game? I normally just buy my tickets on the day and as an when i need them. I suspect this is costing me a fair bit extra! If anyone wants to share some info on an all day travel card type things it would be much appreciated. I have tried google but it goes way over my head. Will be leaving from Winchester btw.

COMEONYOUREDS Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 (edited) Buy a return from Soton to Brighton on the 'Not via London' option. Jump off at clapham junction and make your journey from there using oyster. That is the cheapest way to get to London from Southampton/Winchester believe it or not Soton - Brighton Return £25 2x Zone 1-3 Singles on oyster.. £5.70 (one peak, one off peak) Total £30.70 or Southampton - London Z1-6 Travelcard £39.00 Winchester - London Z1-6 Travelcard £34.00 Edited 8 February, 2012 by COMEONYOUREDS
stevegrant Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 GroupSave is by far the cheapest option, but requires 4 people. 4 return tickets for the price of 2.
Lets B Avenue Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 GroupSave is by far the cheapest option, but requires 4 people. 4 return tickets for the price of 2. However, if one miserable bas tard in the 4 goes home on his own (you might guess who, Steve), he can get charged the single fare (£23) on top. Watch out for over-officious gingers in a guards uniform.
This Charming Man Posted 8 February, 2012 Share Posted 8 February, 2012 GroupSave is by far the cheapest option, but requires 4 people. 4 return tickets for the price of 2. Or if you don't have many friends, you can do 3 for 2 groupsave and you get a 1/3 off the fare.
