Luis Suarez causing more trouble

So only just back from a ban for being racist, he goes and does this...

Sadly, the ref did give him a yellow for it so the FA can bottle it and not take any further action against him. What an absolute c***!

And as for Kenny Dalglish saying that Suarez shouldn't have been banned, despite it being proved that he made racially abusive comments to another pro... I used to have a lot of respect for you Kenny but not after that.

Is there any integrity left in football an more?

I actually think it was Wong to handle the terry and Suarez affair so differently. It wasn't actually proven, it was done on the basis of probability unlike Terry's case.

That's because Terry's one is being tried as a criminal case rather than a civil one. If the CPS wants to bring charges against someone, there's not an awful lot the FA can do about it.

Suarez himself admitted that he called Evra "negrito", and the experts the independent panel consulted were pretty clear in their assertion that it was stated in a derogatory manner.

A verdict that Suarez disputes. by the video evidence it is clear that Terry said the offensive words, what is in dispute is if he said it as an insult rather than saying that isn't what he said. Not much difference in my mind. (does the fact that criminal proceedings have been brought mean the FA are unable to do their own independent investigation based on probability? Or are they prohibited from doing so?)

I imagine that would be filed under Contempt of Court as it could/would prejudice a criminal trial.

In some ways Suarez is unlucky then that he wasn't prosecuted! In that case the FA would be powerless to deal with him and his case would look shaky on a beyond reasonable doubt basis.

The Suarez case wouldn't have even made it to trial on a criminal case, but as soon as the CPS decided there was insufficient evidence for a prosecution, the FA would have been perfectly entitled to then begin their own investigation, which could/would have produced the same outcome, only much later.

Terry is unfortunate that a member of the public made a complaint to the police, which obliged them to investigate. Had they not done so, the FA could have then stepped in and hit him with a similar punishment to Suarez.

But is it not massively inconsistent for that to be the case?
