saintmatt Posted 5 February, 2012 Share Posted 5 February, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16890236 I see this has been posted in General Sports, but think it deserves a bit more exposure than that. Hopefully this will be an eye-opener to fans who sometimes go overboard with the abuse they dish out to the people in their club's boardroom. Mr Doughty seemed a decent guy by all accounts, he was a true fan and invested c.£110m of his money in Forest. Unfortunately the spend, spend, spend strategy many of their fans wanted wasn't sustainable (is it ever?) and, on cutting back the budget, he received some horrific abuse (I experienced it personally when I went to the City Ground a few weeks back). RIP Mr Doughty, you only ever wanted what was best for your club.

Madjeski at Reading is in the same unfair situation. RIP

Winchester Red Posted 5 February, 2012 Share Posted 5 February, 2012 Read Alan Sugar's biography. I think anyone who'd choose to be a Football Chairman is nuts, let alone spend their own money in the process
